Anyone who has ever used a laptop or desktop knows that they periodically start doing weird things (or stop doing anything) for no particular reason. And often the "fix" is nothing more than to turn the thing off, let it sit for a minute, and then turn it back on.
Given than modern cars, including ICE models, are run by computer modules, it is probably a miracle that we don't have more problems than we do. Of course, since we are driving, the safety stakes are higher -- you never want a failure than prevents you from at least bringing the car safely to a stop. Hopefully, with their software updates, things will continue to improve as time goes on.
