bugs to kink out with the auto driving and fsd beta blah blah.. if u dont care about that.. then no need to update.. but its good they fix software fast vs vw
So what you’re saying is, in the advancement of new technologies, companies of all stripes, Tesla and VW included, introduce imperfect products at the onset.

compare vw's state of software vs tesla...
I couldn’t care less, the ID.4 gives me no problems and drives beautifully. Cost me a cool $20K less than the Y would have at the time. I feel like a winner. Others may feel like a winner buying a Tesla.

I reject that Tesla gets to set a marker of vehicle quality based on the number of software update it releases. It’s meaningless and shouldn’t be a comparison point.

Note that this doesn’t mean VW shouldn’t update their software. They should and they are. A bunch of Tesla owners showing up on a VW forum to shame them doesn’t change a single thing.

What dealership? I don't believe you.

There are 4 2023s listed within 100 miles radius of me. If I were to call dealers on them, I'd bet that at least 3 are actually reservations, maybe all 4. Some might become available, but they likely aren't now.

For context, last week of December, well before Elon nonsense, there were 30 something (don't remember exactly) on that same VW inventory list within 100 miles. A couple were available, most reserved. I know, because I called every dealer that had something close to what I wanted. That week.

ID4 is a very good EV but not quite a smart car or cell phone on wheels yet like a BYD, NIO and the forbidden T. Hopefully it will be with updates. TACC is as good or better than forbidden T’s Mobile Eye early autopilot but not as mind blowing as Forbidden T’s FSD and I’ve tried both. ID4 certainly blows away the highly recalled Mach E, BZ4X wheels falling off, Vaporwear Equinox, Bolt🔥.

Here’s how good Forbidden T’s software quality is. 2 years after owning it, now it can show live camera view inside and outside. It also now shows the side camera during a turn signal lane change because a fan asked Forbidden E to implement and he agreed. Also temperature control such as battery warm up, and automatic reroute to another charger if full. This has really improved the quality of ownership. I hope my ID4 can do some of that mentioned in the Q2 update and more if VW really wants to compete. Having CarPlay is no longer good enough. Also if VW can’t figure software out, just be like Polestar and let Google do it all. Profits can be split, and they will stop losing customers over this software nightmare.

There’s no shaming as an owner of both. ID4 has superior auto parking and smoother suspension but compared to forbidden T, there’s a lot more to be desired. I’m offering constructive criticism hopefully Mr. Blume and the Royal Piechs family is monitoring.

The only thing my ID4 blows is the door wide open but really it doesn't blow any competition except on price entry and availability. It's not even comparable to Bolt and Equinox is yet to be released as 24 MY.

Check out the Mach E forums the car has so many problems it makes the ID4 software problem small. BZ4X was offered to me at 15k mark up 6 months ago, but they aren’t producing many and the charge speed is a joke. Bolt with the 2nd recall over seat belt fires and Mary Barra promising the other 27 models and catching up to Tesla by 2025 😂.

They have softened the suspension in the Y but they still ride very rough - I suspect they have a very simplistic suspension design and they’re trying to make it handle well by making it stiff.
I have rental 2023 Model Y long range with stock wheels....and it feels good from my experience on rough road ( people have to understand that Tesla is focused on strong acceleration and little more stiff suspension is necessary ). But Cruise control on Tesla is below expectations...so many ghost braking when using it...and there is no way to disable emergency braking when Cruise control is enabled.

Totally agree. We are driving a car not some super computer. As long as my car is driving well I really don’t care if I get one update or ten updates. Right now I don’t have any issues. Not every feature is used by every owner. So it’s up to the individual what works for them.

all dealers work the same way.. listing with photos are actual on lot inventory wether sold, pending or unsold.. if its pending, it will be marked as such.. caveat is how fast they update.. usually within 1 day.. like i state previously.. i was there last night.. i counted over 22/23 id4 sitting on the lost.. i specifically ask the sales guy if these are all cancelled reservation and he said yes.. he also blank threw out the dumb greedy sales pitch of " these can be bought right now for 5k mark up"
I am surprised you are giving this amazing information with no pictures…

i just linked the dealer's inventory... but hey be skeptical because your region has low stock when someone else just posted pasadena's inventory also... california is literally sitting on id4
I think they will still sell in an extreme left state to a die hard lefty who hates QElon because he said something.

Didn’t you say you saw 22+ ID.4’s sitting there in front of you that were dealer stock? Where is the pictures you took? Or are you saying you didn’t need to take pictures because you were seeing it with your own two eyes?

I guess if you like a really firm ride… but agree on the cruise control. I tried it a few times on 23 Model Y, never saw any phantom braking, but it did try to steer into oncoming traffic on a curve once. Scared the shit out of everyone. So, I guess you’re stuck with a tired right foot because you can’t disable one pedal drive…

There might be some 22’s around because they aren’t tax credit eligible. He was claiming 23’s … but I think you’re feeding the trolls.

I'm ambidextrous [in an extreme lefty state] so not insulted, but please watch your political-slanted rhetoric as some may be.
Also, saying that the only reason someone would buy anything other than a Tesla is due to politics is rank fanboyism that we don’t tolerate well here!

I don’t think they can let them sit on the parking lot long unless they heavily discount them or wait after April. Selling off the 23 with tax credit means even more trade in vehicles which will overwhelm them into used car dealership.
