I had the same question when I got my car. It shows up when you start the car. I looked it up in the manual, which wasn't super clear but I think it means that the system that warns you whether you have something in front of you that can cause a collision is calibrating. You are suppose to drive a bit and then it will disappear as per the manual. So, it is normal as per the manual. It shows often for me and then indeed it disappears when you drive for a few yards (meters).

Any icon that is white is supposed to be normal as per the manual.

Emergency collision braking is building pressure in the braking system...there are two loops of braking system one for user operator and another one is accumulator that is pressurized when driving and de pressurized when ID4 is not used .
If you research ZF electronic booster brake it will give more detailed information.

I had my foot firmly on the brake for quite some time before heading out this morning. My typical wait for everything to boot although more typically I do so with my foot off the brake. It came on without any audible but some "brake power" text that I barely had time to view. Then just as quickly extinguished.

Then later about midway during my 45 minute drive home. This time, as I moving, a quick ID Light Red and also the dash symbol red and a short audible beep. But again quickly extinguished and no further instances in that trip nor another shorter trip thereafter.l

I had charged to 80% the night before but don’t believe that’s relevant.

Have never seen it before in almost 6 months of ownership. Of course after I read this recent thread. 🤷‍♂️
Can you give me more information on when this happened.....

I would make appointment with service regarding this.....braking system should not be avoided if there is errors coming....try to see if you can do it and recreate issue.
And once start the ID.4 and brake pedal is soft....apply pressure and hold....and try to feel any pedal movment from the point where you keeping pressure applied.

This happened to me last night as well! I thought it might have been because there were people walking on the side of the road and it was on a curve. Figured it saw them and thought they were crossing in front of the car.

I had a similar error. The exact message was "brake booster is limited", in Red. I had also had my foot on the brake for an extended time when it occurred. I turned the car off for a few minutes, turned it on again, and the message was gone. Never seen it again. The incident did get me thinking about the emergency brake. There is not anything obvious like the hand-operated brake in my Jetta. According to the manual, press and hold the Park button (for EMERGENCY USE ONLY).
