Thanks. Are there any tutorials that you can recommend on doing the wrapping? I have not attempted it before but I want to give it a shot. The Tesla is very sharp looking too.
Look at this guy's YouTube channel. He's got a lot of content about wrapping and I learned a lot from his vids.

Tinted front side windows (50% ceramic) and mounted the eBay roof bars mentioned on forum. The roof bars are basic, sturdy and very practical. Tear drop aero style bar cross section. Off kayaking soon !

Wired my escort radar detector and remote mute switch to empty switched fuse. Easy and clean. I like it better mounted there and it's more discrete than on window.

Great thread. This whole forum is an amazing resource, really.

One thing I'd like to change is the 3-blink turn signal. On my 2018 GTI, I used an OBDeleven to change from 3 to 5 blinks. But I don't know if it's possible to make these kinds of changes on ID.4. Anyone know?

The other change I'd like is getting some Euro back bench headrests. They're flatter (like the middle seat headrest). I did this with my GTI through oe245 parts also and the back visibility improvement was great. But haven't found a source.

Anyway, have only had the car since Thursday but already drove 300 miles on it! Loving it.

It is not possible, they locked it down tight with good encryption that requires a secured connection between a VW server and the car and nobody has hacked it in the few years since they did that. Maybe someday, but then the car would probably get an OTA to block it since it would also allow malicious hacks as well as the good ones we want.

Ah ok. Oh well, no big deal.

ETA: VW, if you're reading, give us the option in the infotainment system with a later update!

I got tired of the front license plate holder and painted and installed some temporary Scotch Adhesive rubber buttons. I plan to epoxy fill and paint the holes, but am waiting on touchup paint order for my color.

Also, if you don't want to go to the trouble to fill the holes you can use Dorman 963-018D trim panel inserts. The fit tight. Prime and paint with your color. No need to drill out like for BumperPlugs.

Thanks for the part number on the Dorman plugs. Picked some up from my local auto parts store and did the same today.

Finally completed my vinyl wrap project. Took much longer than expected as I didn't want to remove the roof rails or fin antenna as that would have required dropping the headliner. I found that once you start removing interior panels they don't always go back on as snug and you can get those annoy rattles.

Anyways, I went for the GTX look and black out my roof. It's all satin black vinyl to match back to the roof rails. I also wrapped over the glossy black areas on the rear spoiler sides and side window panel frames. I always liked the look of the Range Rover Evoque with the blacked out top thought it would look good on the ID.4.
