It does seem like it. I mean, if the OTA mechanism actually works, it seems like they could update 2.1 to 2.1.1, with no other changes, to prove the OTA systems works. But if the OTA system does NOT work then there's all kinds of problems they will need to sort out rather soon.

Well we know for sure that the car needs to be on 2.3 to flash to v3 software, based on a previous VW post (I believe from VW's Europe FB page?). We also know that a dealer visit is required for v3 because of a module or modules which are currently not OTA-updatable.

So with respect to your poll, does "OTA" include a dealer-provided update? And are you excluding the OTAs that already happened in certain geographic regions, just not on Mars, hell, or the N. American continent? (but perhaps in the middle east, I don't know...)

Agreed to a point, I'd more expect to see a post like this on Facebook, then sink down to obscurance after a day. But at least on a proper forum like this we can choose what to click on or ignore.
