White Wheel FE Owners

I’m getting very close to pickup of my FE with its white steering wheel and accents. For those of you who have had it for a while, how is the white trim and steering wheel holding up? Do you find yourself having to clean it frequently? Any regrets for getting the FE and not waiting on the PRO S?

I’ve already treated mine with a leather conditioner/sealant (Griots). I picked up some loam bags yesterday so was careful to clean my hands before driving. In these Covid days there are plenty of hand wipes around and we’re supposed to use them anyway. 😉

Not only do I not regret it but wouldn't change to black if offered. I really like the look when sitting the car. The color is an off white to almost very light grey which I think will let it hold up longer. I also had my interior treated by the dealer and have leather wipes and baby wipes in the car. I am being more mindful of it but don't think it's a big deal to make sure I don't hop in the car after working on my bike or whatever.

My FE is a safe zone. Whenever I get in, first I use Purell on my hands, then take off my mask, and then touch things inside the car. I haven't done any preventative steps so far.
If I had to do an oil change, IF that is... I'm sure my hands would be as clean as a surgeon's 😉.

I am glad to hear this. The white steering wheel was the reason why I switched from the FE to a Pro S. Then I switched back to FE when we got the 2nd chance. Still wasn’t super excited about the white but after my demo drive, I wasn’t bothered by it. It has grown on me. I am at peace with my decision now.

The light Gray is what kept me away from getting the first edition, I ordered a pro S. However I do like the look. the light gray is very close to what my current interior is in my Prius prime however the steering wheel is black in that car. I do have a job that sometimes makes me tracking dirt into my car and I know if I would’ve got the first edition I would’ve stain that steering wheel very early. I also have a clumsy tendency of tracking in dirt and stains and not knowing how I did it. But I might be reconsidering my idea of waiting for the pro S I may be finding a local dealer that is selling a first edition, like I said I like the look of the light gray steering wheel but still not sure.

For what it’s worth, the light gray isn’t that light. It’s closer to a charcoal grey. The white steering wheel is actually really refreshing and delightful. What gets me are the white panels on the inside of the front doors. Out of the corner of my eye, it looks like an old DustBuster sitting on the door!

I too had trepidation about the light interior but the black looked less appealing, and besides, it's primarily my wife's car, and she's not grimy like me.

The night before purchase I saw on the dealership's site a Galaxy Black interior was listed. I dug up pictures of the light steering wheel with the otherwise dark seats and my wife about choked, nope, can't do that combo.

Closing time phone call to the dealership confirmed that that was a listing error, it's really Lunar Grey, and all ended well.

My fingers are crossed that we can keep it all bright with a minimum of fuss, because it looks fanatic.

The white steering wheel and other panels contrasted with the dark grey seats make getting in each time a bit of a visual 'event' for me. I didn't think I was going to like it but turns out I really do. 😁

I had the same 'cleanliness' concern with my wife's GLA light grey interior, especially given her poorly dyed fashion jeans, but nothing a bit of quick cleaning doesn't resolve the few times it's been needed. Are folks really that concerned with putting in a little bit of elbow grease as potentially required? But then there's a lot of Marine in me. 🤷‍♂️

The only concern I have is with the door handle and the nail polish of the ladies in my household. Some sort "wrap" for them would be really great. They are practically a blank canvas waiting for something artful.

I’m thinking about my dog’s paws scratching and dirtying the white door handles in the backseat. Will have to find a cover for the inside of the back doors to go with the “hammock” I’m currently using to protect the seats. He loves to stand up with his front paws on the door handle so he can see out the windows easier. If anyone knows of a good removable door cover for dogs please let me know!

Maybe one of those luggage handle wraps?
