Just curious who here is already a VW owner or past owner... and who is going to be new to the brand.

Currently own a 2019 eGolf, waiting to see what VW and Audi come up with the next few years.

BTW my first car was a used 1986 Scirocco.

I'm a past owner...loved my old Jetta 1.4T 5-speed in a pretty rare bronze metallic paint color that VW discontinued. I'd actually really like my new ID Buzz to be painted the same bronze if VW lets you order VW Individual colors for the ID Buzz.

Would you go all bronze on the Buzz or would you want a two-tone look?

I have a love hate relationship with VW. Love the way their cars ride and handle, a certain Farfegnugen, hate having to deal with VW idiosyncrasies and their incompetent stealerships.

Current-
2014 JSW TDI 6 Spd M- 49K miles

Past-
2012 Passat TDI 6 Spd M- loved the car, stupidly gave it up to dieselgate with 78K miles on it, was averaging 55 mpg.
2002 Golf TDI 5 Spd M- Averaged 58 mpg, 299K miles, failed inspection due to rust from too many Maine winters. :(

Future-
Blue ID.4 AWD w/statement package.

Fun tread, thanks for reviving it.
I never owned a VW myself, but grew up in them. My dad only bought VW for the better part of 5 decades. My grandpa too.

Okay, I'll bite on this one because my 44yr Spouse and I have had a few...

Current VWs:
2007 Passat Wagon V-6 4mo (to be donated) - Blue w/ACC 4 motion control (0,50,100% rear), APC programming
2018 Atlas V-6 SEL-P - Red

Past:
Late 1964 Red Bug
Early 1965 Blue Bug
1971 Westfalia Camper (Westfalia factory pickup)
1977 Rabbit - Brown
1979 Vanagon - Orange
1981 Vanagon - Brown
1985 Vanagon - Blue
1988 B5 Passat 1.8t w/programming
2001 Eurovan Winnebago Camper (Artic Circle trip) *Automatic
2004 Jetta 1.8t
2014 Passat 1.8t w/programming *Automatic

Future:
2021 ID.4 First Edition - White
2023 ID.Buzz - Hoping for Green two-tone..

Non-VWs:
1975 Ford Granada *Automatic
1987 Chrysler LeBaron Turbo
1992 Camry V-6 Wagon *Automatic

All of our non-VWs were almost as quirky as our VWs

Looks like Swimrwo has a commanding lead in the Volkstory Competition, but I'll throw down my meager entries:

1970 yellow Superbeetle (wife's car, bought used)
1976 white Rabbit, bought new
2009 blue Jetta Sportwagen TDI, bought new
2012 black Touareg TDI, bought used
2021 blue ID.4 FE, reserved

On the plus side, with the ID.4, I will have had cars from all three VW epochs -- beetle, fwd Golf and BEV ID.

Have had many VW and Audi cars.
1989 MK2 Golf diesel (right hand drive, England)
1992 Passat wagon
2000 MK4 Golf GTI
2001 Audi A4 avant
2000 Audi TT coupe
2011 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI
2015 VW Golf Sportwagen TDI

All great cars. Only new cars were the TDI and the 2015 was on the lot during dieselgate so once a fix was announced I bought it unseen.

I have deposit on ID4 Pro AWD, Scale Silver W/Statement package.
Really wish it had a heat pump. Everything else is great.

I had a 1981 Rabbit Diesel and a 2011 GTI.

After dieselgate, I said I wouldn’t own another VW. However, in my eyes, they’ve redeemed themselves, with all they’re doing with electrification and Electrify America.

I have a deposit on the ID4 Pro AWD. I’m also disappointed it doesn’t have a heat pump, but for now, it tick all the right boxes. Eventually, I’d like to get a 3-Row EV or maybe the Buzz.
