Opening and closing from the key fob is a feature available for many years for VW in Europe. My US VWs only supported opening until I recoded the convenience module via rosstech’s vagcom. I assume it is a safety regulation issue.
Opening and closing from the key fob is a feature available for many years for VW in Europe. My US VWs only supported opening until I recoded the convenience module via rosstech’s vagcom. I assume it is a safety regulation issue.Attached is a video I did with the window switches from the interior to open, close, vent all 4 windows at once. This was a suggestion I sent Elon Musk for the Tesla's and I am very surprised and pleased VW enabled this option. I like to drive with the windows evenly cracked and climate control off when it is nice out. Tesla has not done this yet. I did this by accident and then found it in the U.S. owners manual on page 82.
Additionally, you can open all the windows remotely by pressing and holding the unlock button on the KEY FOB. You should also be able to close all the windows by holding the lock button on the KEY FOB or holding your finger on the door handle lock sensor. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get the key fob/touch sensor closing, or the touch sensor opening to work on my ID.4 yet. Everything else did function as described in the manual page 82.
Enjoy the video:
I think its a feature and not a bug. i guess they dont want kids with their hands out and someone close the window from fob accidently. The all 4 window close does not work for me too using the fob or the sensor. Might be a bug.
Is this something that can be addressed by Ross-Tech or requires something on VW's end to be configurable? My guess is these Adaptation channels in 19-CAN Gateway explain it:
ENG253049-ENG159639-ZV Komfort_Fensterheber-Komfort_oeffnen,active ,8
ENG253049-ENG273538-ZV Komfort_Fensterheber-Komfort_schließen,not active ,8
Oeffnen (opening) is active and schließen (closing) is not.. Also before anyone asks, I don't think VCDS can change that at the present time.
My 2013 Jetta hybrid would close all the windows and sun roof when I used the handle button and held it till everything closed, then the parking lights would flash. Thanks very much for your video FastGolfR32 !!
And that I can get behind, because hopefully you can see if your dog has their head caught in the window or not.My 2013 Jetta hybrid would close all the windows and sun roof when I used the handle button and held it till everything closed, then the parking lights would flash.
Although the FE doesn't have a sun roof I wish it would close all the windows when the handle button was held down till all the windows closed.
Amazingly this started in the 1998 Passat. If you held the key in the lock position the windows and roof closed, held in the unlock position all the windows went down. I think it started then. That is the first model I can think of that did that. With the 07 Passat and long coding it became possible to use the remote and to use the rain sensor to close everything. It’s only a matter of time before someone figures out how to get in and code the module to do the same.My 2013 Jetta hybrid would close all the windows and sun roof when I used the handle button and held it till everything closed, then the parking lights would flash.

I just tried closing all windows from outside. And that I can get behind, because hopefully you can see if your dog has their head caught in the window or not.
Is that a limitation that is likely to change? I'm probably going to invest in a license when it does. Seems like there's all sorts of cool stuff just waiting to be unlocked on this car.My guess is these Adaptation channels in 19-CAN Gateway explain it:

The underlying problem is that VW has imposed new requirements that are explained here:Is that a limitation that is likely to change? I'm probably going to invest in a license when it does. Seems like there's all sorts of cool stuff just waiting to be unlocked on this car.
Apparently not all modules are SFD protected however. I don't know which ones on the ID4 are.oh god damn it.
What the actual hell? Now I know why the thing is so laggy.8124-App server 1 system 2 Java
Here's hoping we will be able to lower the external noise maker outputs.here's the list of the modules that don't contain "SFD" in any of the blockmaps:
