Has anyone experienced the hazard lights flashing constantly when getting the windshield tinted? For those of you who don't live in sunny climates (I'm in Vegas), we put a layer of UV protection to cool the interior. I know that factory windshields have some UV protection, but it's child's play compared to the scorching sunlight that destroys everything here. So, the guy at the tint shop thinks that moisture from the application process may have gotten to a sensor and it should stop when it dries out (it hasn't left the shop). They have calls out to VW dealership techs so I'm reaching out here to see whether anyone else has experienced this. It is the first ID 4 they got to tint.

No need to watch. The hazards stopped flashing. It was probably the moisture. As for the tint- VW factory tint is roughly 18%, so I got 15% to match the rear windows.

Don't the hazards go on automatically when the ID.4 thinks it was in an accident? Unlocks the doors, too.

Update: evidently, the hazards flashing had nothing to do with moisture. They triggered it while working on the windshield through the screen somehow. They then undid that to turn them off. They had a good laugh about it. I was not so amused. At least I got a discount.
Also, the UV on the windshield made a HUGE difference. It is scorching hot here.

DC Auto. I've had several cars done there. The tint always holds up. The 15% they put in the front doors matches perfectly.

My tint guy said that on Tesla’s the moisture does mess with them and warns customers and makes them sign a waiver incase of damage.

Just stopped at DC and they will not do an ID4 windshield again. Said it’s too risky with the sensors. They also wouldn’t do the roof as it is too big for their roll size.

Whaaaaat?!?!?! Did you tell them my car is fine and I'm happy with the results? I guess the owner didn't appreciate having to call me and babysit my car overnight!

I decided to get mine done sort of locally. I'm thinking I'll wrap and tape a picnic table cover around the touchscreen. That should take care of any un-necessary touching.

About to pick mine up at LV Pro Tint. They were happy to do the windshield and had an opening for a walk in. 50% top ceramic windshield and 15% middle ceramic sides and rear. Thought about doing the roof but I don’t know if it is worth the cost. I want to see if doing the windshield cools it enough as I keep the sunscreen shut most of the time and always park in a garage.

I had my windshield done right away and had absolutely no issues. It's the 2nd car on which I do this. It makes a HUGE difference!

I don’t know if pics do it justice but it looks great. The windshield tint isn’t that noticeable and wouldn’t draw attention in any hot city. Maybe up north if they want to be picky but the UV was something like 95% rejection. The sides I think are 75% UV. 15% light fronts and I think they do 50% rear to match. The rear is slightly darker but pretty close. No problems seeing out of any windows. I just did a ceramic coating on the paint yesterday so it is glowing.

I've never heard of ceramic coating on the paint. Is this something the window tinting place did? Looks amazing!
