Got my snow tires put on today, hakkapelita 10s, and several miles in to my return home, a TPS sensor came on telling me that I had low tire pressure in my front left tire. It could be just the change in temperature, but I am curious what people are running for pressures in the winter tires to maximize longevity of the tires/range. Maybe the two are not mutually exclusive?

Usually 0,2 - 0,3 bar higher than summer, so around 2.75 bar is what I use.
(39-40 PSI)
In summer, with summer tires, ~36PSI is what you should use.

VW doesn’t use TPMS sensors on these cars (a cost savings when you need to change tires) but it requires a bit of extra work - every time you check and fill the tire pressures on all four tires, you need to go into infotainment and reset the tire pressure monitoring system. That’s because it uses the ABS wheel speed sensors and looks for variations in wheel speed. I’d imagine this is even more important when you change tire type (such as summer to winter). If you search on this forum, you’ll find posts about this and probably instructions on how to do it! (Although it is in the manual)

Nokian says +3 PSI for best snow traction. Probably regular pressure for cold but dry surfaces. If you can figure out your “regular” pressure!

What d287 said. It happens everytime I swap the summer tires for winter and back again, I have to go in and reset the TPMS. ID.4, my Jetta GLI and previously with Tiguan's and Audi A5.
