I've got a Pixel 5.. when I place it in on the wireless charger within 10 seconds it shows it's charging.. but a few minutes later I can check it and it's losing percentage. Anyone else having the problem?

Well thats not fairMy Samsung S10 with an Otterbox Defender case on it went from 18% to 48% in about a 45 minute drive

My iPhone 12 mini charges but slowly and turns into a George Foreman Grill (even without the silicone case) in the process. I’ve stopped wirelessly charging since then.
Hmm - were you using Google Maps over Android Auto at the same time? My S10 keeps loosing the connection and gets rather warm.My Samsung S10 with an Otterbox Defender case on it went from 18% to 48% in about a 45 minute drive

Don’t forget that there is no natural convection in that cubby either. Ideally you want a few holes in the “nose” of the cubby so the air can rise and naturally cool the phone.I've noticed it's a little better without a case. I'm thinking about cutting a circle in the middle of the rubber mat to see if that helps any as well. There's just too much distance between the coil and the phone for this to be a useful charger.
My 5w pad at home works perfectly fine on my iPhone, case or not. No excessive heat buildup and it charges at a normal rate. Nothing crazy, but normal. No reason the car's charging pad can't be the same if we peel back a few layers....
Qi charging isn't rocket science and the heat buildup can only be from a weak, inefficient "link" between the phone and the car's charging pad.
