Looks like it was traded in/returned with 708 miles on it.
I doubt the first owner made any money.. probably broke even after taxes.Could be....Quick Tax move. Nothing that I have seen says you have to keep it to claim the $7000. You just have had to purchase it.
There is no scam...on lease it will apply as cash down and VW will take tax credit.Looks like a lease return - Possibly a scam of some sort to claim the $7,500 and then hope to sell it for nearly the new price to someone who couldn't claim the tax credit anyway??
I'm always thinking the best of people in these situations

. . . . and then they sell the car with 700 miles on it for $1K or $2K off MSRP to someone who doesn't need the tax credit and VW (or the dealer) makes an extra ~ $6K on the sale of that car. Sorry, but that sounds kinda scammy to meThere is no scam...on lease it will apply as cash down and VW will take tax credit.
It is buyers responsibility to figure out what they should pay for used car.. . . . and then they sell the car with 700 miles on it for $1K or $2K off MSRP to someone who doesn't need the tax credit and VW (or the dealer) makes an extra ~ $6K on the sale of that car. I've seen several similar 'used cars' with very few miles on them (with the tax credit already taken) for sale when I was hunting for my car

But this one was supposedly a lease - No private party bought it to take the tax credit and flip it for profit. The only people who stand to gain from this one are VW and possibly the dealer. That's why I remain suspicious as to what's happening here and I saw several very similar cars when I was looking for mine. They were asking near MSRP for a car with very few miles, but the tax credit had already been used and I thought "Why would anyone want to buy this car at that price with no $7,500 tax credit when they could buy a brand new one and save the $7,500?" - Is this the way they're disposing of dealer demos?Especially YouTube people who will use EV as business asset and write it off on taxes.
Then offer lottery prizes for happy subscriber to get it then flip it one more time..... because they donated actuall EV and report losses on the taxes.
Yes if they can get away with people who don't have clue....Back in the days Tesla buyers did this also and even today used car dealers trying to mask this money taken by first owner and ask more than Tesla is actually worth. Example Colorado residents can easily write of 10k+ with all deductions on buying EV . so even after 2 years of use they are even or still make more money than what initially cost them after deductions. But this one was supposedly a lease - No private party bought it to take the tax credit and flip it for profit. Or as mentioned above… faulty coolant pump error.700 miles on the odometer. It's possible they just didn't like it.
