Wrong "home" address for scheduled charging

My "home" location for scheduled charging is showing the wrong location. How do I fix this? I added "current location" but the car is showing a zip code and city (97115, Dundee) that is dozens of miles away from my actual home (see attached). I have deleted the location from the charging menu and tried again. But each time "current location" pulls up the wrong place. All of this prevents me from doing scheduled charging b/c the car doesn't think I'm "home." Any thoughts on how to reset all of this?

BTW, I have a 2022 (RWD) that shipped with 3.1. Scheduled charging was working fine until I recently brought the car in for the door handle service and some "software update." I don't have 3.2.12 according to the app. So I'm not really sure what software version I received with the "update" at the dealer. But whatever it was, it messed up scheduled charging. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

You should be able to select the Scheduled/Preferred time charging from the Goodbye menu regardless of your location. Even if it does detect that you are "home", most of the time it shows "Immediate Charging" on the Goodbye menu anyways.

Definitely check that your GPS is working. The Navigation map will show the location icons on the map. If your home location isn't in the right place, delete it and then make sure the GPS properly shows where you are before you re-enter your home location.

Thanks for the suggestions. The dealer that did the update was Herzog Meier in Portland. I'm not 100% that their update caused these problems, but that's when I noticed them. Good news (for now) is that after some troubleshooting (see below), scheduled charging is working again. Unfortunately, the "saved charging location" now shows "95633, Garden Valley," which is hundreds of miles from me.

Here is what I did:
Problem: "saved charging location" showing wrong location
  • Went to ID4 map and it showed I was in Garden Valley, California (when I'm actually in Oregon). Uh oh, sounds like GPS problem.
  • Reset power button on screen (hold for 10+ seconds). But no solution, still showing "Garden Valley."
  • Went to bed, came back the next morning.
  • Logged into car again with QR code listed on car screen and connected phone.
  • ID4 map is now showing correct location! Yeah!
  • Went to menu, "charging," "locations," and selected "add current position as a charging location." Failure: it's still showing wrong place: Garden Valley.
  • Reset to factory settings on screen. Tried to "add current position" again and no change: ID4 map shows correct current location but "saved charging location" under charging menu is still Garden Valley. Scheduled charging is working, even though the "location" that I set for scheduled charging is showing the wrong city and state.
So there we have it: ID4 map correctly shows my current location; scheduled charging is working, but "saved charging location" will not show correct location after reboot of computer and restoring factory setting on computer.

Question: why is scheduled charging working if the "saved charging location" is showing wrong address? I thought scheduled charging only worked if the car could correctly identify "current position as a charging location," as it says when you set up the schedule.

I believe the car is SUPPOSED TO automatically choose the preferred times when it detects you are at a saved location. Mine does this successfully maybe one in ten times. However, I think you can always choose the preferred time from the Goodbye screen.

Well it looks like the GPS has broken again, even after a full infotainment reboot (which temporarily fixed the problem). I've posted over to the page where people are talking about the GPS problem. I'd welcome any ideas on how I can replicate the problem in front of the dealer (other than showing that the map on the screen has the wrong location). Thanks for the help!

You could use a map app on a "smart phone" and take a photo using your "smart phone" including both screens in the image to show the difference in location. The only other idea is to take it to the dealer when it is "broken", call ahead to the dealer and have them meet you in the parking lot. But you will have to keep the vehicle alive until the dealer observes the issue, in case the system resets when you get out of the vehicle, making you look dumb.
