So out of the blue I lost the memory function of my driver's seat yesterday (21' 1st Edition). I checked the forum and found a few posts about it happening and it apparently being a lovely "feature" after the 3.1. One person said they took it to the dealer and it required GFF (guided fault finding). So I hooked up OBDeleven (which I despise by the way. Give me a USB connection) and found the following fault:

If the picture is broken it's Driver's Seat Module, Fault code B135554, "Seat forward/back adjustment motor - no basic setting."

I let stress get the better of me and forgot my basic (ha!) training on VWAG products until I did some googling this morning and realized it may just be a simple matter of "homing" the motors like you do with the windows. So I went out and moved each position to its max position, and multiple times. You need to do it multiple times because there was clearly a loss of home on a few positions.

So after homing each position and holding it in each max position for 5 seconds I tried setting the memory and IT WORKED!

This forum saved me from going back to dealer on this as my drivers seat memory was not working after 3.1 and I did the trick mentioned above and it worked just dandy. Interestingly my passenger seat didn't need the procedure.

Too bad we don't have a simple process like this to fix the easy access hatch, I still need to have them fix that on my next annual service. I rarely used it when it was functional so I have forgotten about it both times my car has been in service for recalls/warranty work since the update borked that feature.

Thanks for helping me resolve my biggest frustration with my 2022 AWD Pro S. Otherwise, very happy with the ride (other than the well known clunky software).
