So my rear Alenzas were finally down to the bare minimum at 27500 miles, and like many here I scratched my head about what replacement tires to get. I had my eyes on the Hankook Ion Evo which my friend Michael around the corner loves on his ID4. However, in the meantime our size is no longer available. I should mention that I am not a car guy at all, and have never cared all that much about what tires my cars had, as long as they were quiet, lasted a decent amount of time, and weren’t expensive.

Anyway, the really low price of Aturro AZ810 caught my eyes, and a Reddit thread seemed to indicate that they weren’t too bad, and an ID4 owner had them too. So I took a chance, and had the rears replaced last Saturday. Big mistake!

in sharp corners the car felt a little mushy and not confidence inspiring, even to this amateur. Far worse, on California freeways with their longitudinal grooves, the car’s rear wobbled from side to side as if it ran on foam rubber or something. It could have made a person car sick. By Sunday afternoon we decided that we’d had enough and return those tires and get something “normal”. That’s quite out of character for us…

We are now back on Alenzas with their surefooted feel and look forward to a 2000 mile roadtrip through Northern California next month. Discount Tire to their credit took the Aturros back and applied their full price toward the Alenzas.

It seems like old advice but Michelins have always been good to me. They have released and then discontinued several models of tires so far, trying to find the right combination for EVs (heavy cars with performance). The Defender LTX I have performed super well, despite being discontinued and replaced 3 times. I'm planning on sticking with Michelins until they steer me wrong! ;)

I have 21K on my stock Kumho Crugens that came with the US 23 Pro S RWD. Tread still even and deep, but have thought a bit about if I'll go to 18 or 19 inch and square setup when the time comes. Even thinking about the Sailun Erange, but not enough data yet, except one Model 3 thread. Tires just seem like such an expensive racket, it kills me to think of the margins on them

I have a 21 AWD Pro S and got the Sailun ERange. Great tires after 7000 miles, quiet, assured cornering, and they advertise 7% better range! Can’t confirm exact numbers but it is better than stock tires. Not to mention they are very cost-competitive (looking at you Michelin CC2).

Two completely different tires.
