About a month and a half ago I noticed a light clunking noise coming from the front suspension in my 2023 AWD Pro S, so I made an appointment to have it checked out at the same time as the door handle recall. They found that both front sway bar links were bad and ordered new ones to be installed. Of course of the course of the month and a half, its gotten worse and louder. I'm glad they ordered the new ones of course and this is all covered under warranty, but my concern is this happening again. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm really looking forward to having my quite and smooth car back, but I don't want to have to do this every 4 months. The car is 4 months old and has 6000 miles on it, which is obviously very premature for sway bar links to go bad. If it happens again, I'm considering buying different brand sway bar links and doing it myself, but don't want to void anything on the warranty by doing that. I also don't want to have to bring it in every few months for new sway bar links. Anyone else have something like this?

Last visit it was drivers side, today they replaced the sway bar link on passenger side.
2023 Pro AWD. Sway bar links. First noticed the noise around 19,000 miles. Finally got them fixed today (25,000). Note the tech said "wore" loose, not "were" loose. Hopefully the replacement parts will last longer than the originals. A $20 part: 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 Link. Stabilizer. ALL WHEEL DRIVE. ID.4. Q4 e-tron. Wanted to add my name to the list of people who had to get new sway bar links today. It probably started around 20K but I decided to live with it until close to the end of the warranty. (We have 3/36 bumper to bumper, right?) In any event, I have about 27K on the clock today with my new links.
Maybe someone will make some stronger aftermarket ones someday. I’ll buy em.

Wanted to add my 2023 RWD ID.4 to this list. Front passenger link was replaced at around 13 000km. Just before hitting 30 000km, the clunking sound came back (this time seems to be from front driver’s side). Will bring it in to be fixed again.
Going in again for the same replacement, 10k miles after the first ones (which were at 24k). I'm guessing these are now out of warranty... It's been an excellent winter for potholes. I wonder if this can be done at home? I'll try to chat up the mechanic on the upcoming service to see what's involved.

Our 2021 ID.4 Pro S RWD is getting them replaced. We are at 109,000 and have been hearing the noise for a while. I guess I can't complain too much compared to others' experience with these needing to be replaced sooner. Mine though are not under warranty.
Please let us know how much it costs, I’d like to have an idea of what to expect.

We just replaced ours, at 50K miles. We live on a steep gravel road in the mountains, no wonder.
Mine started making noise at 30,000 miles and I just replaced them at 35,000. I used Mevotech links, which seem to be more substantial than the originals. It isn't too hard to do. The links are accessible with the tire removed. If using Mevotech, you will need a 6mm allen wrench and 21mm box wrench.
It's pretty quick. Last time they did mine it was only in the shop for a few hours, I think.
