Best Windshield Sun Shade for ID.4?

Anyone has found the best for our IDs?

I've recently been looking for an option. Despite the AWD having a solar windshield that blocks a lot of heat, the dash and steering wheel still gets hot in the south.
I've seen that Covercraft made a custom one, probably the best for our car? Also weather tech, Intro-tech, and some other smaller brands making them. Also, of course, there's the VW branded one.

My question is, has anyone compared more than one product, or if you can share whatever you have? The VW one is actually pretty cheap, but I'm not sure how well it fits, or how well it works on blocking the heat. I'm currently using the original Heatshield brand (got this for all our previous vehicles) shades from ford escape, and sonata hybrid. One is a bit taller, the other is a bit too wide. Also, neither has cut out for the safety camera behind the mirror.

I'm wondering if I should just go to the dealer and get the VW one, or if I should spend more for the Covercraft. Unfortunately, headshield doesn't seem to make one for the ID.

I got the official one from the dealer and was shocked at how poorly it fit. Picked up the Covercraft from Costco, and it is much better, but not perfect. Real pain to push in the passenger side, helps that I've got a big wingspan, being 6'4".
I don't believe Costco has sold the custom cut Covercraft, was it a universal fitting one? I've always got the custom cut ones for my other vehicles, the universal fit ones just suck. I found online that these official ones have different part numbers for different vehicles. Could it be they get you something for another VW? The correct part number is "Part Number: 11A064366 ", and upon checking, it is a different part number from other VW cars such as GTI.

In what way does it not fit for you? It find the VW OEM one works great; it tucks behind the ID.light at the bottom and behind the sun visors at the top. My issue with it is the time consuming rolling and unrolling. It does fit under the raised load floor in the back when not needed. However, I miss the folding one Subaru had for our outback - that took no time at all to fold and unfold.
That sounds like covercraft, cost about doubled to the roll up ones

I have this which I repurposed from my old Chevy SS (Holden Commodore). It's not a perfect fit but works well enough for my needs.

Covercraft makes one for the ID4. It's just not listed on Amazon yet.
Part #: UV11769BL

I think my sonata's shade fits a little better than yours shown in picture. I just couldn't justify the extra cost on these covercrafts. Do you think they really worth the price?

I’ve had Heatshield sunscreens in three cars including the ID.4, the fit is very good, as is the material.

I did try their side window covers which were ridiculously bad.
Where did you find that? I have been using Heatshield on all my previous vehicles. But I cannot find heatshield for ID.4 on Amazon.
I got Xpel ceramic film on all windows except the windshield. So side is really not a big concern for me.

Yes, that looks like it! Thanks a lot...
Actually, Amazon just listed both Covercraft models for our ID.4 today. They weren't even there yesterday.

With the 3rd party (I believe it's the manufacturer) it was for sale for $68, about $10 cheaper than Covercraft website. However, if you look into "more sellers", choose the ones that Amazon sold, they are only $53-54, although it said you'll have to wait for 1-2 months. I just placed my order in, I don't mind waiting since I've already waited 8 months for the car. 🤣

I was playing around with the multitude of covers i've collected over the years, this was the closest fit. I like the build quality and how well it works (that, and i'm not a big fan of the wire-fold or roll-ups). Despite not being a perfect fit, i'm happy with this one. Already have ceramic tint all-around so just having this cover on the windshield where my car is facing the afternoon sun until i leave work makes a big difference. Although, if i didn't have this i would still spring for the custom-fitted one you just linked. :D

On that note, the ID.4 HVAC works pretty darn well, probably one of the better HVAC units I've had in any vehicle thus far, even after having the car sit out in the sun all day. If this car had ventilated seats, that would have been perfect.
They saved that for the Audi eTron, even the Q4 eTron doesn't have vented seat.

My dealer sold it for $33. VW held 10% off of online orders. Try checking on parts.vw.com then find your local dealer to see if it is cheaper.
That website is stupid, it kept thinking I'm in California and send me to CA dealer, then after I switch to nearby dealers, it gave me crazy shipping for over 10 dollars.
