Yet again my main infotainment system went black. This has happened before but usually self corrected if I got out of the car and got back in again. This time getting in again didn't work . It required holding the power down button down 30 seconds. Then it resurrected, hopefully for longer than 3 days. The VW tech said that it is a programming glitch and VW should push out the correction anny day now.

That happened to me very early in my ownership and hasn't happened since. I have had other software issues but that only happened once.
I've only had a black screen twice in the four months I've had my car. During both events the car drove normally and even the radio continued to play. With the first blackout I held the power button down to reboot while continuing to drive and it came back just fine. With the second I was almost home so didn't mess with it. The screen was fine when got back in the car later that day.
Concerning the software update which was promised the end of the summer, it seems the release date has been getting pushed back repeatedly. I have no idea when it will be released and I don't think VW has any idea either.

I had this happen for the first time on my ID.4 on Sunday. I ended up having to pull the fuses to reset it, as holding the power button, even for 30 seconds, had no effect.
