Funny, I only charge at EA, usually to 90% and always to 100% on my many road-trips, and yet my range never dropped in 14,000 miles? I still recommend the VW ID.4 to everyone partly due to the excellent battery.
Warranty is 70% at 8yrs or 100k miles.
Seems to me if you only have 50% at 5 yrs or 50k miles, you'd be eligible for a new/rebuilt/refurbished battery.
No matter how you charged it.

I wish we could better understand the readouts. But thankfully VW is so extremely helpful to educate us on all these questions☹ and the dealers are also so knowledgeable i am ways impressed
What are your specific pids of interest.
Name some and i will explain.
I'm the one who donated almost all pids for ID4 ( it is my hobby and I don't get paid or i get any sponsorship from carscanner app developer, it is my donation to all that are interested in more information pulled by obd2).
I have also supplied bunch of pids for many other brands, usually if they let me have specific vehicles i can tag and address 1000th of them in couple days.

Yeah its weird isnt it, but I think that its just me, as the novelty wears off, less and less hot-rodding and road trips.
True. I drove fiat 500e before since 2013 so i feel i kept my driving style fairly uniform and clearly see the reduced range. For me all parameters point to degradation. Also u can see an exponential trend but my data just goes down linearly
So far.

Fiat anything is not to be compared to a functioning car. Ask me how I know. 😖

Road-trip the ID.4 and hot rod it all you like. It is paranoid in my opinion to think you are killing it’s excellent LG battery.

Edit- Well except maybe for the first 10,000. 😂 But at least it is a minor glitch on a newly developed product and it’s not like they burn like other BEV’s have. 🧯

hi VW technician thanks for asking. first i really want to thank you to give us all super helpful the insight on our black box on wheels.
one thing i would like to know is how to download a carscanner report with all sensor data - hope it is possible. the alfaOBD does this very nicely
-is there a pid that reads the same number of SOC as the car screen?
- how trustworthy is the max energy content of HV battery to judge degradation. as we see in the forum it seems all over the place from 78000 to 71000 with similar range.
-can i get the information if my battery is balanced and when the last time? - you mentioned somewhere a procedure on how to proper cycle the battery to get it balanced i think. is that still valid?
  • there is an odometer and odometer #2. in my case odometer agrees with car display but odo #2 is a few miles off.
  • why is my ESC lately kicking in on modest turns and accelerations - didn't use to do that.
  • is there a pid to tell us how different the rpm on the wheels are to give low pressure tire warning? that way we could get a more analog information.

maybe more later :)

thanks for your help

How do u know. I had no troubles with my 500e in 6 years and it always made me smile when i drove it and Italian songs playing.

App website says the All sensors screen records all available sensors. Trip reports are in Data recording (downloadable as csv, or brc - just press and hold). If you enabled GPS location, trip data is shown over Google maps, nice feature. Remember to press Disconnect before closing the app, or trip data will be lost.

Information on major vehicle components is in Settings > ECU identifiers

My ID.4 battery health is still steadily dropping, mine is currently lower than any of you (71200), but what I found so far my range still about the same as shown in this chart I am maintaining:

Curious question: any chance you could add the avg. outside temperature to this line?
I have the feeling mine drops down more in winter and recovers a bit in summer.

Do we know what these road categories mean?

Ypu will need to charge it to 100% then live it off not using vehicle for 4-6 hours then check again for cells voltage high and low. If balanced, take vehicle for 5 miles drive minimum without aggressive acceleration or using B mode. After return to the L2 charger or L1 charge it again to 100% and wait for 4- 6 hours and check again cells high and low V.
If all corrected, continue keeping eye over time with battery pack cells balance and high and low imbalance. If it continues going like what you posted have your vehicle back to service department for further diagnostics.
When balanced, the highest cell v and lowest cell v will be within 0.01-.02v. Nothing saved about the last time. Maybe since it balances the cells after every charge.

Yes you are right it does that on my ID.4 too. Day 216 was 30F on January 3rd. At the rate it is going, this winter my battery degradation should be 10%+. Lets say it is linear, I would hit 30% degradation in 3-4 years and hopefully VW by then run out of refurbished battery stock and give me a fresh brand new improved battery 😁 So instead of worrying, I should just go ahead and do my free-charging cross country road trips 😁
