For some reason EA has charged me for my last two charges. The first one was on September 13 for $4.68. They credited that one on September 17 after I called them. Now comes November 4 when they charged for $12.90. This amount reduced my wallet balance to less than $5.00 so they also billed my credit card for $10.00 to keep my wallet above $5.00. This was all agreed to 15 months ago when I signed up with EA. Now they are processing a credit for the $12.90, but they didn't say a thing about the $10.00 until I noted the charge on my credit card account. They are now processing this credit also since it should not have been charged.

All of this happened with my account showing the ID.4 charging plan.

Just be aware they still have some issues or maybe new ones. They were initially telling me the $10.00 was legitimate, but I persisted. Watch your credit card charges from EA. After 110 total charges with EA this started happening?

In general, EA is doing a terrible technical job. EA is giving out a lot of free electricity so as to not offend current and future users.
In the last 3 months, about half and half were "driver" free and ID4 free.
After March 2024, I probably won't use EA anymore. I'll be using BGE and tou for my electricity.

My intention with my post was just to let everyone know there are some issues with EA billing for what should be a free charge with our ID.4 plan. We should be checking our charge cards regularily anyway, but this was something that surprised me after 110 charges with EA prior with no issues.

It was not meant to be an excuse by some to start the bashing of EA, VW, or our cars. I personally love my ID.4 and it has caused virtually zero issues over 27,000 miles in the past 15 months including a marathon road trip detailed as it happened on this site back in May and June 2022.

My 2 previous issues with EA billing me for charging which included a $10.00 charge to keep my EA Wallet above $10.00 have all been credited. And then today I decided to check it out and get a charge that I really didn't need on my way home, but free if good right? And this gave me an opportunity to see if EA fixed the billing issues. Well you know the answer since I'm posting this update. I charged for a total of $9.89 which dropped my wallet to under $5.00 so they billed my credit card for $19.89 and at $0.43 per kWh on top of that which added insult to injury. And the charge was had the following included with the billing "Thank you for using your 2021 ID.4 Charging Plan".

I immediately called EA and they said they would credit both the $10.00 and the $9.89 as well as bump this issue up to a higher authority to fix it for future charges. I reminded them that they said the same thing last month. I also threw out I wasn't happy with the fact that they can charge my credit card instantly, but it takes 3-5 business days to credit me back, but it actually took a few days longer than that.

As the title of this thread is

Or maybe they are just picking on me.
