Is number 27 a typo?

I have a hard time believing the 2021 ID.4 charges faster than the 2023. It seems more likely that it should be the 2023 ID.4 RWD, which gets more miles added more quickly than the 2023 ID.4 AWD since it's more efficient. Clicking on the link brings you to a 2023 ID.4 page too. So I think it's got to be a typo.

Just to clarify my previous post, the Edmunds listing ranks the EVs on how many miles per hour they add while charging, which is a function of charging speed and efficiency (how many miles the car can travel per kWH). That's why the Ioniq 6 is number 1, it charges quickly and has great efficiency.

Far down the list are the ID.4 models, #27 for the ID.4 RWD and #30 for the ID.4 AWD. It makes sense that the RWD would be higher than the AWD because both versions charge at the same speed, but for the same amount of charge, the RWD can go more miles.

BUT, they specifically list the 2021 ID.4 for the RWD, and the 2023 ID.4 for the AWD, and that's what I'm questioning. I think they meant to list the 2023 ID.4 RWD instead of the 2021, which makes more sense to me. Plus, if you click on the link for the 2021 ID.4, it actually brings you to the 2023 ID.4 page, so I think it's a typo on the chart.

Yeah, I have to remind myself that it's not a scientific paper. They're journalists trying to earn a living and time is money. I clicked on the '21 and '23 reviews and while they have different info for efficiency, I couldn't see any info for charging. That's why I figured they short cut that part of the table (copy/paste).

I'll give them kudos for the testing they do. And for having their methodology spelled out in the FAQs at the bottom of the page. I find the info useful/helpful.

The following is from the article.

"For example, if your battery has a total net capacity of 100 kWh, it should take only 71 kWh to charge it from 10% to 80% (there are 71 increments between 10 and 80)."

Does this make sense to you?
Anyway, that's where I am stuck.

I know they are trying, but there got to be a better way to compare "Fastest charging cars".
