It all depends on the shipping schedule and if you catch a ride early or sit at the port for a bit. It took 2.5 weeks for my car to go to 20-2 (left the port). Then it takes about 2 weeks to travel to the US. Then depending on what port yours is unloaded at, it could be another few days. Then there is the travel from the port which varies depending on how far inland from the port you are.

 

2 weeks for east coast. 30~35 days for west coast San Diego and Benicia, CA.

 

My question is why so few being shipped to the US?
I get that they are short of parts but they are still selling a bunch in Europe and demand here seems robust.
What is the cause? I see total sales is very low in the US.
I am certain someone here has an explanation.

They are producing and stockpiling them in Chattanooga. When the software installed in the stockpiled cars is approved, a flood of cars will be released. Unconfirmed rumors say there are upwards of 6000 cars stockpiled.

 

Ask the dealer to whom your car is being shipped. Their dealer portal should have an estimated arrival date. When I contacted mine they gave me a date and said that date was +/- about a week.

 

Anyway, who took delivery of at 2022 VW have an estimate of how long it took to take delivery of a MY22 once they hit 20-1 code status? The email I received says 1-2 months estimate from VW. The delivery estimate is a little longer out set at 12/01-02/01/23. I've got a locked 2023 I'm hoping arrives sooner at this point.. ideally before end of year. Here's to hoping my 2023 moves into 15-1 before my 2022 arrives so i can make a more informed decision of which to take ownership of.

my actual build date was 7/12/22, Locked on 7/13, jumped to 20-2 on 9/6/22, showed up at the dealership 9/12, took delivery on 9/15. I believe there are a few days between 20-1 to 20-2. Mine arrived at the San Diego Port around 9/9/2022. About 2 months from the time it was built to it arrived at the dealership at Berge VW, Mesa, Arizona.

11 days old, already 893 miles, saved about $165 in Diesel not driving my Touareg TDI. Love the car, Sill hoping EA gets it together.
