It saddens me that so many people are having so many issues with their id4. I just bought mine Nov 8th and am absolute awe of this computer wheels (yes, I stole that name from someone else).
I even bought “another id4”

I’ve owned my 2023 AWD Pro-S for just 6,000 miles and I love it - as do most of the reviews I have read… including all the comparisons ID.4 vs Equinov EV (my other candidate). The ID.4 is fun to drive, roomy, feel up-market, and has all the storage I need. Unlike s few of the other members of this group, I do not mind the touch switches and don’t care about the layout of power window switches. Also, WRT my garage

- its a perfect size!

Don't sweat it — "so many" are a vocal minority who land here to ask questions, hopefully figure things out, and also find a community to commiserate with.

But time and time again this subject comes up and it seems an overwhelming number of ID.4 owners are happy with their car. Maybe not all wine and roses, but not dissatisfied. A somewhat silent majority.

VW has been having a rough go of it with this car and that's unfortunate. It magnifies any misgivings. But despite VW's problems, that hasn't exactly translated to ownership "problems"per se, ignoring the steady stream of recalls and glacial pace of software updates.

I love it, too! Only reason we're trading for a Buzz has to do with aging parents, need for sliding doors, and nowhere to store an Odyssey once their house sells early next year.

I didn't know there was a white version of the Matchbox ID.4. Now I need to find one!

I still love mine. Coming up on 2 years with 13,700 miles with very few issues. I do wish VW was better with support ... not for any issues that I have had but for other people on here that have had some very frustrating experiences. I have no regrets with my purchase ... my first EV and my first brand new vehicle.

I have had our 2024 awd pro S for 4 months,we really like the car, drives well, nice looking, roomy.Have had a couple of minor issues. We also have a 2023 F150 Lightning,a much loved truck, again,a few minor issues. All EV’s seem to have some issues,ICE vehicles do too.Forums are a good place to look for answers but can make you weary if you read too much.We love driving EV’s,enjoy yours too.

Another "we love our ID4" voice chimes in. Over the past 22 months it's become our favorite car over 50-some years of driving. It helps that our dealer, Darling's VW in Bangor ME, is all-in on EVs and doesn't treat them as a suspicious growth that wants excising. VW Corporate, on the other hand, has the attention span of fuddled elders raging against the dying of the (perceived) light.

If you want to feel better about the ID.4, go over to the Silverado EV forum. Failed batteries, mystery no starts, problems with software, longish wait times on parts.
That sounds like nothing. Lyriq had parts falling off constantly on top of the issues you've listed. GM EVs seem to be.... duct-taped together lol.

Coming up on two years with my Chattanooga-built 2023 Pro S. No serious complaints! I try not to think about paying absolute top dollar for it in January, 2023, but I was trying to beat VW's price increase. Also, if I had known how much trouble it would be to get the $7500 credit from the IRS.... (Still don't have it!)

I think my Pro S is just sensational. Nine months in and 11,000 miles has been great. Be happy in what you drive.

Our 8-month old 2023 ID4 AWD Pro has a quieter and smoother ride than our Kia Niro EV, and the massaging seats are definitely a bonus. However I am surprised that the range is not as good as our Kia given that the battery is much bigger. The Kia-Hyundai controls are much better, less confusing and faster.
Our major disapointment is that we went with the ID4 because of the VW press releases promising V2G and the ability to connect to Tesla Superchargers for our model.
