ID7 teething problems

I recently took delivery of an ID7- absolutely love it!

The VW website says I should have more app controls than I do though.

I can’t access park plus pro remote control app, can’t start the car from the vw app, or adjust climate. All it seems to be able to do is lock/unlock and sometimes turn on climate.

The vehicle trip log isn’t reliable either, I’ve charged three times and the since charge trip computer still shows mileage from before the first.

my wing mirrors also won’t turn down in reverse

Anyone found any fixes? Is the app just constrained in the uk? Google seems to think it should have more options too.

Or does anyone know any good mileage/trip logging apps compatable with the car?

Welcome to the group, and good luck with the car. We only have the ID.4 in the US and the software can only be described as finicky. It has been better over the years but it is still not perfect, and sometimes the OTA updates cause other problems. Maybe someone with an ID.7 will chime in with some help. Good luck.

Only the drivers side window will tilt down and only if you select the mirror in question from the control knob while in R.
There may also be a setting to disable the feature.

The limitations you're seeing may indeed be due to regional restrictions, as some features, like remote control and climate management, can vary based on location. For the trip logging issue, you might want to check if the app is up-to-date or contact VW support for potential fixes. As for mileage tracking apps, you can try third-party solutions like A Better Route Planner (ABRP) or PlugShare. Balancing my part-time job and college assignments was becoming overwhelming, especially with an essay deadline approaching. This Custom Essay Writing - High Quality For The Best Price service came to my rescue with a well-written, thoughtful essay that met all my requirements. It saved me hours of work and stress, allowing me to focus on other priorities. I’m so impressed with their professionalism and the quality of their work. I’ll definitely rely on them again for future assignments.
Is everything working good now?

Edit: Thanks for the reply.

It seems to be a uk thing; the uk app is different to the app offered in eu/us. So no remote start or control. Bit crap. In regards to the since charged computer no idea! It is still (as far as I can tell) completely randomly around 600 miles +- 200. Obviously not since last charged. Would love to know where it’s measuring from! At first I hazards a guess at supercharging but I have never supercharged the new motor so open to new suggestions! Assuming some of the issues are due to the different uk app. Still think it’s a great motor compared with the Tesla and other EV offerings but also disappointed by the app and UI in the car. Had a few glitchy bits with Spotify etc. Would still choose it over a MY tbh. Have you recently brought, did you have a similar experience?

I presume you’re in the UK
You need to be on L mirror dial setting and configure in Settings on screen for passenger mirror to dip.
Remote start and drive not available in UK
Rear boot lid open with foot wave under car disabled in UK
Can adjust clime with remote app, not sure why your app does not allow it…
You may need to go into car provacy settings and allow remote control

Hi all,

first time VW owner. 2025 ID7, overall its great. But ———— a few teething problems which is why I jumped on this thread rather than create a new one.

  • wing mirrors not dipping but will try what was advised above.
  • massage seats, when set to 20 mins only lasts for 2 mins
  • have to switch off speed notification on every trip
  • seat position is temperamental, can go to set point but others doesn’t
  • Apple car play keeps disappearing from the quick access menu
  • lastly, I now appear to have leaves In the background of the screen (autumn upgrade?) I thought it was condensation in the screen this morning 😂

still a great car though 👍

For mirrors, only the passenger side will dip and only once you’ve actually calibrated as per instructions. No calibration, the mirror is set to dip by 0 degrees. So it does ”work”, as it dips as set… which is no dip at all. After calibration it should dip where set.

Speed alert, that is not a bug or an issue with the car. Mandatory EU requirement since 2024 or 2025. Well, it’s been there longer but the requirement it resets every time is the new requirement 2024 or 2025. At least 2023 it could be permanently off, but not anymore. I guess you get to enjoy that in the UK too either because of no customization or similar regulation.
