Yup. At this point I am thinking that those getting 2023's out of TN will receive them before I get my 2022 out of Germany.

I'm just a single data point, but I was ok getting a 2021 MY car in March 2022. At least I got a car.

 

Same here. I got a 2021 in Feb 2022, and I'm good with that. It still feels and looks pretty much brand new to me 4 months later. I keep my vehicles for a long time, so the depreciation argument holds no water in my case. Besides, EVs seem to be holding value very nicely over the long term anyway.

We are not building customer ID4s yet. Also, take a look at your portal data. If it shows model year 2022, it won’t be Chattanooga. There are some other ways in the portal that could tell you also, but the model year is a dead giveaway.

 

But doesn't an article say that all 2022 from Chattanooga are sold out already? Then the plant might be building 2022 models?

Just put down the $100 USD reservation deposit for an ID.4 Pro S with AWD. The VW portal claims that it will be shipped from Germany.
Maybe it makes more sense to wait for the 2023 model and then order again hoping it will come from the US?

 

No, there was an article about 2022’s reservations being sold out in general, but all of those came from Germany. The plant in Chattanooga will be building cars in 2022, but they will be model year 2023s.

 

It seems to me the ID.4 “wait times” are just a dart aimed at a wall with numbers all over it. Mine is for sale sitting on the street. I can even send a picture, likely with a cat walking on it, and anything you like written in the dust 🤣🤣🤣

I have a Moonstone AWD w/Gradient and Gray interior at the port. The Wheel Of Torture has been notoriously incorrect for me. It still says I'm at 30-2 with ETA of July 2022 - September 2022. The dealer shows it already at the port in Benicia with a note that says "ETA Status Early"with delivery window of 7/10/22-7/15/22 (which is now past). For a few days it showed in the dealer inventory as incoming but is now not listed. I have not received any communication from VW outside of the regular updates from the sales manager at the dealer.
