In case anyone's wondering, i've not had much luck with the matrix lights. there's a couple of steps that we can't do on the id.4 that are done on the other cars, mainly that normal beam and high beam basic setting.

i managed to jack up my driver assist camera alignment in the software, so i've got a trip to the dealer in a couple weeks to fix it. the id.4 guy there is familiar with odbeleven and vcds mods, so i'm hoping between the two of us we can figure out a way to "write" the settings to the lights, which is what it seems like we need to do.

I hope you share your experiences ....but i would advise you to wait for windshield camera firmware updates first ( that should be coming with next update)

Ok, I've just got to ask.....

Many times informed "it will be in the next update." Since I've not had any updates in my now 9 months of ownership, is this USA "update" anywhere near on the horizon? I understand you may not be able to comment, but more just to voice some of our ownership frustration with these types of responses.

You won’t get a printed code anymore. If you buy it from their website, you create an account. If you then log in to the app with the same account, the pro subscription and credits get automatically added The moment you connect to the OBD11 device. Worked like a charm for me
Do you have the GTX, and what have you unlocked/changed that is worthwhile?

Yeah, what I call super high beams, is what they call DLA I guess. It’s not only that it masks out other cars, but also adds some really powerfull leds that allow you to drive as if it’s full daylight. I don’t have the 37 mile minimum speed requirement though. Am pretty sure mine switch on already at half that speed.
I can try to make a video of it in the near future.

thing is, this feature is either added or massively improved in 2.3, so not sure if you can get it working in 2.1.
It is highly recommended - I have dodged a few deer as DLA not only turns everything in front of you to daylight, but also larges swathes of the peripheries.

I also love watching the headlights dance and streak across just about everything as it adapts to oncoming traffic.

I don’t think we even have the hardware for that in the US since it was banned until they just changed that … but that won’t go into effect for a year or so while they write the rules. Hopefully the rules that they write will allow the same headlights you have in Europe to come over here!

no GTX, I have a normal RWD. Enabled mirror drop on reverse, with the knob going to the right position as soon as I set it in reverse. Set lane assist to remember last setting (wife hates it, so this allows it to stay disabled). Tried to enable capacitive steering wheel, but I’m missing a small piece of hardware behind the airbag, so no go there. Enabled DRL for the rearlights. And I guess I did some more small things, but I forgot already.

I would love to have Lane Assist to default off as well - no warranty issues here?

DRL makes sense in our often somewhat around-the-clock gloomy weather in December, January, February.

Wouldn’t know why it would void any warranty?
Downside is that the single setting will cost you $100 in hardware and pro licenses.
And yeah the endless grey days without sun is mainly the reason for doing it. To bright for the lights to kick in, and the lit rears then just gives a little reassurance.

I don't know to be honest, but Lane Assist being a safety feature, I though maybe...and yes, I prefer the rears to be on at all times, but EU rules follow we musta.

Trying to go over all these changes, I thought if there is a way, please forgive me if already done, of consolidating all the information possible changes with either one button app on OBDEleven or with any other method and the requirements for each mod

On the Chevrolet Bolt Group, there was a member who did that for PIDs, not the same thing but the idea of having everything summarized will for sure be of great help

Thanks,
Freddy

I'm still waiting for delivery of mine, but as far as I am aware, there are a number of ready coded apps to OBDeleven, but you do have to pay for them with credits. They are listed on the OBDeleven website.

I'm working on a final set of instructions, but one click apps require a certain kind of account. If people want to pool some money I'd be happy to build a whole suite of apps for the id as we find the things we can do but I'm not up for dropping a hundred more than I've paid just to do that.

Happy to put in the work itself and build them though. They'd certainly be easier and safer for the community at large to use because they check for required conditions, etc.

I should add - this will also allow everyone to make mods without getting a pro plan - basic plan is cheaper and you can use apps with basic. you need the pro plan to do adaptations and long coding.

i made a GFM in case people are actually interested: Odbeleven ultimate for id4 talk community, organized by Derek Gelinas to be clear, i'm not in this for the money - i'm willing to put in the time if you guys want me to. should we not reach that $120 number i'll refund everyone. i really don't want anyone's money.
I have helped you reach the number ...now go and havesome fun with ID4.
