I have experienced much of the same frustration as you. I am only two weeks in and dread it when I have to go out in the car.

However, after a dozen or so calls with WeConnect concerning the notifications you touched on that always pop up, I received an email last night that they want to organise for my car to go back to service. They confirmed that it's a known issue for things like Ambient Lighting to reset and the update to user settings popping up
That is so great to hear!!
Thank you for sharing that. 🤗

and apparently they have a fix that they will walk the technician through. I am not holding my breath due to if a fix is actually in place, then why not roll it out or why isn't this info with the retailer. My friends Enyaq is doing the same btw so this appears to be a wide spread VAG software issue, across the shared platform that is...
I had some crazy problems with my ID.3 as well. (The seats moving their position... Once the back of the passenger seat was completely down! Entirely made up speed restrictions.
As well as quite a few safety systems regularly breaking down, along with the SOS button.
So every time I started the car, there was this long list of warnings that it went through.)
The dealer had ONE other buyer with the same problems, and they had managed to "force an early upgrade" for them and were going to ask the same for me. If you have the fix, release it! Will it really be more unstable than the previous situation? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck with the new car and fingers crossed updates roll out soon. It has been said any times, how this car got signed off for customer consumption is mind boggling. Massive props to those who have been putting up with this from the start.
🤞🤞
Again, thank you for posting this! 😊
(I'll bring a screencap to the garage for my tire switch tomorrow, hoping they understand English.)

Sensors sounds can be muted when parking if this disturbs you.
Or just turn them off like I do.;)
From my years of experience I have learned that more options means more frustrations😄
I've been looking. While I took down the warning sounds on the ID.3, I haven't managed to find that on the 5. Only a choice related to distances... I think.
If the option is there, I'd love to know where to find it. 🙏

(EDIT: Found it in the Park Assistant settings. Was on 2 and I took it all the way down to 1. 😅)

Yes! Better with fewer options/functions that work well and that are easily accessible.
I mean, I LOVE smart solutions and new technology, but only if it works.

Regarding a major update.

I’m at the garage and just asked about it and the guy at reception quickly told me that there’s going to be a general recall.
So yeah, there are definite problems. :)

I'm booked for this major ID.5 fix on January 25.
They're hoping they can do it in one day, but it might take two! Because "that has happened".

And you don't get a replacement car.
Now, I don't think that that's right. 🙁
Who decides that? The importer, the garage, VW themselves...?

It's a recall!!

[Recall: ( OUC8 ) S-OTA-update: ID.Software 3.0.3]

`Hi AMR, what is this about? [Recall: ( OUC8 ) S-OTA-update: ID.Software 3.0.3]

Any more detail on this possible recall?

My car is in this Wed for what appears to be a known fix to stop the car from loosing certain settings and to stop the 'updated user settings' message that I get daily and yesterday, 7 times!

That’s the one you’re getting then. 👍
Lucky you.
(Drives one mad, doesn’t it!? 😱)

Do you get a replacement car?

I'll bet my suggestion still works; press the button and see! ;-)
(I did, but it felt like more of a process than just switching the gears quickly. (Looking down to choose Park Assist and then I had to choose the other view option). Plus instead of a direction view next to the bird's eye view, it was just grey - with the car looking for a parking spot. And then the car panicked when the speed increased. 😁 Still, good to know that it's there. 👍

I'd rather the Voice Command button on the wheel was a button to activate it. But that's me. 😁)

So I had the fix applied on Wednesday and so far so good. My ambient lighting hasn't changed and I've not seen the dreaded 'user settings have been updated' message.

I got the car back with my preferred ambient lighting set so assumed all was good. But digging deeper into my settings shows that a few items were changed and assume this was down to the update. I took a few min to set everything back up again and now set.

My mates Enyaq was doing this same thing and now he's booked in to get the update.

It's been a week since I had the fix applied and happy to report that none of my settings have been lost, haven't had the 'updated user settings available' message etc. So if anyone is suffering from this, do get booked in. What's not clear is if you need 3.0 first or not. I am in the UK and my ID came with 3.0.

My car was in yesterday and immediately showed the same annoying problems and even worse than before. (Despite the garage telling me that everything had gone well and was working fine. 🤬)

What does your System information say?

As can be seen, mine still(?) says 3.0.0.

If you or someone else have obdeleven app let them scann all modules and post it here... i will help you bring attention to your service department.
What are your problems with vehicle?

I will double check in the AM but I believe mine is the same. I do however know that after my car went in, the software version didn't change.

All I said to them was that I kept getting the 'updated settings...' message and they knew exactly what I was talking about. I'll try and dig out the paperwork as well should a campaign number or whatever is called out.

Wow, that IS odd. In my opinion, each software version should be easily separated from previous ones. But then chaos seems to be the rule here!
At least your car improved. 👍👍
(Mine doesn't even charge via my charger now. Just like when I got it. But it might be a coincidence, since I just had a home battery installed. Although nothing for the home charger should've been changed.)

You get paperwork? Nice.
(Well, I did get the appointment email with the same title as my post about the fiasco. Recall OUC8 S-OTA-update: ID.Software 3.0.3
But apart from that, I got nothing.)

UPDATE:

So this recall is only to check for disturbances in the system.
The 3.0.3 (being the latest available update here) is entirely over the air, DIY and should start to become accessible.
The guy I spoke to said that they could check the VW servers if given the exact time that the logged out pop-ups occur.
I told him that they are pretty constant and that most of us get them.

Imagine a world where VW kept us updated about these things and we didn’t have to look for it ourselves. 😉

Apologies for the delay. My system information matches yours displayed here 100%. And I can confirm that since late last year when I had whatever patch/fix they did, I have not lost any settings or pop-ups on the screen about updated user settings...

This car is truly testing my patience. After a few weeks of all being well, as well as it can be that is, I am greeted with 11 notifications in the car that I am not logged in. Yet my profile was there and I clicked OK like I do daily. So I followed the prompts, logged in again and straight after I got another 9 notifications.

While doing this my sunshade decided it wanted to close on it's own! I tried swiping the controls to stop it but no luck. Tried retracting it and again, the touch pad did not respond. Using the on screen menu in Car, Interior, I managed to retract it again but still no joy using the actual control.

10 mins into my drive the navigation screen went blank, rebooted itself, sunshade closed again and a slew of messages of failed login.

Never in my life have I had a car with so many issues and one that I seriously dread having to get behind the wheel.

Oddly enough my friends Enyaq is also throwing the login errors, his user settings being lost etc. Yet he had a good two months of not having said issues, but did when he first got it.

This all has me wondering if VW is indeed pushing updates to the car secretly. I find it hard to comprehend why something works one day but fails the next, car reboots itself, things opening closing on it's own etc. More so that my mates is doing the same at the same time.
