Can anyone shine some light on this:
I have a new Golf 1.4 Hatch, manual transmission, which has an intermittent and ongoing issue — specifically, a sudden and total loss of power while driving. This has happened approx 12 times since purchase in August 2024.
Diagnostic checks and short test drives have not identified any fault codes. The garage's position is that I've perceived the power drop or loss, that it hasn't happened or if it has, it's been my driving style.
Given that the issue appears to be intermittent, I understand it may not always trigger fault codes or occur under standard testing conditions. Any similar experiences out there or thoughts about how I can resolve this issue - i no longer trust the car as reliably safe.
