VW ID.4 Roof Rack Installed

Got the rack and installed it. Coming from a Lexus Thule OEM I think the VW rack (maybe made by Thule??) is nice. The plastic cam I hear people complain about doesn't seem too bad and I like the 'wing' design to put on and remove easily.

Wind noise grabbing my daughter from school was a slight whistle around 35-37 and standard wind noise around 50-60.
Will report back on wind noise as I get more hours in.

All in all I like it, I think it is a quality piece outside of the plastic end caps. Those seem poor and would come off in a car wash.

I give is a 7.5 out of 10

I do wonder if the wind noise is reduced or impacted at all of you pull the roof shade panel up?

non highway driving but drove to work and back average 40 - 50mph noise is almost non existent. Will report back on power shade and highway speeds soon.

Installed my bars yesterday on a 2023 AWD Pro S (black rails) and can also confirm it works just fine. There is some whistling noise, will try some ideas from here: ID4 Base Carrier Bars - wind noise and vibration

Question: is there a trick to flipping the plastic end caps up once the rack is unlocked with the plastic key? I can't get it to move up after sliding it out without basically just pulling it off the little clips, and even then it feels like something is going to break. Putting it back on is also hard and I feel like I'm going to break something.
