Dealer visit to patch or wait for OTA campaign in January.
Hope it goes well and congrats on the milestoneI have my 100,000 check up scheduled for Monday...I'll see if they will offer to do it while it is in for that.
Yes its easy. Don't hit Install when the option appears on your goodbye screen. It won't install by itself.Am I the only one nervous that the fix will cause more problems than it fixes? Is there an easy way to delay the installation for a few months?
The first id I bought hasn't had the infotainment screen go black in months now and the one I got in October not at all. I am inclined to wait awhile and see how the update goes. Does it remove, add or modify features, does it install smooth smooth and quick..or..?

The service manager at my dealer also told me the door handle fix is approved. They are waiting on parts. New cars on the lot will probably get priority for that recall as well!Scheduled with dealer in a couple weeks. no ota for 919A
Well that posting jinxed it. Had the black screen and black and white binnacle in the pro s awd this afternoon. First time occured while running nws radar and spotify on androidThe first id I bought hasn't had the infotainment screen go black in months now and the one I got in October not at all. There’s a fix for that? Mine look like someone smashed the “projector lens.”I took my 2021 Pro S AWD to the dealer this morning to repair, under warranty, the distorted light pattern that projects downward from the outside mirrors. It is a quick repair.
I asked the dealer’s service manager about this software update. They have it but have not installed it on any ID4s. The service manager said they plan to install it on a few ID4s they have in stock before trying it on a customer’s car. Quote: “We don’t want to brick your car and want to see how the install goes on our in stock cars first.” Good advice and I told him thanks as I don’t want to be the first beta tester.
Yes there is a fix and was completed today under warranty. Dealer had to order parts which were available. Apparently, the reticle on the LED got wet and distorted the projected image. The LED module with the reticle was replaced in each outside mirror. Dealer said it happens. I could have lived with the distorted image but the repair was free. There’s a fix for that? My app is now showing repairs available for both 919A and the door handle recall. Mine is due for 2 year service in a couple of weeks so hopefully they can do both recalls at the same time while it is in.
The OTA won’t be available until January - for now, it’s dealer only for the screen fix. And we won’t know what the door handle fix involves until someone posts the instructionsI see the "schedule service" for the door handles as well. Does the wording leave open the possibility that all they have to do is " inspect" "if the recall condition is present" as "affected vehicles may have been built".. and owners may notice if the condition is present "occupants may notice a clicking sound". No click, part looks good, no work needs to be done?
The software update also shows as available to be scheduled, but not OTA.
