Battery question - rate of charger

We are loving our new id4 and getting to know more about it each day. We had a ChargePoint level2 charger installed recently and noticed that it charges at a slower rate at the scheduled time - 12mph. If we unplug it and start again it will charge at 30 mph.
We have spoken with ChargePoint and they sent us a new one but the same issue persists. They believe it has something to do with VW and not the charger.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Welcome to the forum. Yes many people with Chargepoint are having the same problem. Other brands like my Goplug are not having this problem. Many threads here like this one:

Yes. I have a Chargepoint Home Flex. Most of the time it will charge at the normal rate of just under 11 kw, but occasionally (randomly?) it will charge at about 3.5 kw. Stopping and restarting the charging session will fix that, but I don’t know what’s causing it. You can monitor the charging rate through the chargepoint app and start and restart the charging through the myvw app.

If you use obdeleven you will see that charge point sometimes reports to the vehicle max 3.5 kw output. This is definitely EVSE side issue and not ID4 problem. What someone who owns this EVSE is to have customers service on call and watch negotiations shake between EVSE and ID4 to catch this bug from EVSE and have them escalate it to engineering department for software fix. I have done this long time ago, but it seems that this provider are not interested in fixing this bug for non commercial EVSE side.
Or use work around what other people have posted above.
