Ok so after almost a month I went back in to check, and my capacity went up. So looking at this app alone has to be taken with a bit of salt.

To get more accurate results do this VW shop testing method:
The most important is discharge to <10% and charge to > 90%, then wait an hour for the BMS to balance the cells. Temperature around 70F.
If you have not done this, it will often vary as you see.

You are not taking full speed at the charger if you coming with 20% SOC ... Maybe you need to get more comfortable getting down to 10% SOC.
A lot of times it isn't really a matter of comfort - if you are at 20% and simply can't reach the next one, then that's when you stop and charge.

How much did yours go up? Yours were already above 77k.
Mine still going down slowly but surely, currently at 73550. 11/1 was 74897.
Last time I did 0 to 100 charge it went back to 74550 but soon it continue on its path down.
Lets say drops around 1300wh per 3 months, if linear 7% per year, I heard its not linear 🤞

Thanks for scanning and sharing. This is the closest to a new ID4 I have seen.
Here is another data point for my new ID.4 with only 220 miles on it, only 1 charge to 90%, then discharge to 15%, and my Maximum energy content of the traction battery is 77700wh in car scanner. Battery temp. is 36F so I expect it will vary once it gets warmer, hard to do when its been 0F each night.

Congrats for new ID.4! I'm jealous at your battery health.
My March built ID.4 is currently at 73000 at 10531 miles odo, 36F. From my last post (December 21) went down just 550wh in 2 months so it is not so bad I guess.🤞

About what you should see at this mileage and temperature.

Another data point: after simply sitting and the battery warmed to 50F (thanks sunroof!), the Maximum energy content of the traction battery rose to 78250wh (was 77700wh at 36F) in car scanner.

That's good to know. I tested mine the other day and it was showing about 8% degradation. Still pretty chilly, here. I'll test it properly when it warms up.

My lowest was 72600 last february (5.7%) freezing temps. Then it got warmer some weeks ago 75F, it went back up to 73700 (4.3%). Past few days got colder again and went down again to 73300 (4.8%). 🤷‍♂️

Oh well life lessons . It is working great otherwise so not too worried.... maybe i'll take advantage of the 8 years / 100,000 battery warranty
This is my data after about 14 month ownership and it makes me unhappy. Yes i charge 99% with EA to 80% but VW does not say that is damaging the battery. This also agrees with my gom range which decreased from around 240mi to 210mi

Well, they do say that repeated fast (DC) charging should be avoided as much as possible as it will lead to battery degradation. This Source (but there’s plenty of sources - even the User Manual): Get the most out of your EV battery

Also - your readouts may not be 100% accurate. There’s plenty of discussion on this and how to get a better reading, just search the forum…..

“Three golden rules for better range
It’s relatively simple to take care of your high-voltage battery. Just follow the three golden rules below and you’ve already done the most important things.

  1. For daily usage, Volkswagen recommends setting the charging target at 80%. Before long trips, Volkswagen recommends setting the charging target at 100% for the highest possible range, and then driving off as soon as possible after charging is completed.

  2. If the vehicle will be unused for longer than 12 hours, leave it parked with a battery charge level of at least 30% and no more than 80% (e.g., at the airport before a trip).

  3. When possible, avoid regular fast charging with direct current (DC). While suitable for road trips, the high rate of current while DC charging stresses the lithium-ion high-voltage battery more than AC charging. Frequent fast charging can permanently reduce the battery capacity of the high-voltage battery. “

Well here is mine, if you think yours is bad. bought it at the end of January 2022. It currently has 6782 miles on it. Mostly town driving.
This is my fast charging history. Charged at the dealers 30kW fast charger the day I got it. I have charged 4 times at 50kW chargers, and I just charged for the first time at an EA charger today, but started at 50% charge, so the highest the charging reached was 54kW.

I usually charge to 70 to 80%

Funny, I only charge at EA, usually to 90% and always to 100% on my many road-trips, and yet my range never dropped in 14,000 miles? I still recommend the VW ID.4 to everyone partly due to the excellent battery.

I wish we could better understand the readouts. But thankfully VW is so extremely helpful to educate us on all these questions☹ and the dealers are also so knowledgeable i am ways impressed
