Just spoke with my Service Rep and one thing he did mention is that one owner did contact VW and ask them to switch the car's provider to T-Mobile instead of Verizon (he said to do that, you push the CarNet button in the car and make the request that way). Has anyone tried this?
I didn't think the carnet button in the car did anything other than display a message on the screen telling you the phone number to call. Maybe that was a 1st edition thing.

I called CarNet and they said they could connect to the car if I push the "i" button on the roof console. Of course, they could connect to my car because, no internet.

Pretty sure the car does not connect to a Verizon "satellite". A Verizon cell-tower perhaps. The only internet services via a satellite are Starlink and perhaps HughesNet or whatever is used to give folks out in the middle of nowhere 100kbps internet service.
The service manager kept saying satellite, I'm sure of it, but he could have been referring to Verizon towers(?).
