Don’t know if this is legal in all states and provinces but it seems like it could be interesting as a front plate replacement.

Lol, hadn't even occurred to me somebody would be making "replica" adhesive license plates!

The legit LPW ones are legal in California (and I think so far only in California): https://licenseplatewrap.com/

I doubt the phony ones would get much scrutiny on an ID.4 because the mounting surface is so flat -- not like on some cars where the decal obviously folds over an edge.

Think I am going to mount my front plate to the grill under the bumper. My dealer said it wouldn’t affect air flow into the engines. Any thoughts?
They are 100% correct, engine airflow isn't an issue on ID.4 😉

Mine is mounted centered in lower fascia in middle of path to radiator. No issues yet, don't expect issues, still lots of open vents on either side

Just in case it helps anyone else, I spoke with the owner at GMG Motorsports and he said their Jetta kit would work for the ID.4. Unfortunately the dealer did not listen to my request, so I already have holes in my front bumper, but for others looking for a tow point mount option these looked like good quality to me. Here is the link he provided at my inquiry:

Just installed a SlyBracket on my Pro S. It looks great, but I have some questions for people who have installed these already.

I wanted to mount it slightly higher so as not to block the air intake, and use the same height seen in earlier photos from this thread. However, no matter how I placed it at that height, the bracket was hitting hoses or covered wires that run under the bumper. I could not slip it behind them without knowing if I was hurting anything, so I had to mount it lower down. Were people able to get the bracket behind those wires?

I'm also wondering if anyone has gone through a car wash with the SlyBracket on. It is extremely solid and well-built, but I would worry about the car wash machine grabbing the edge of the bracket and damaging the grill.

Thanks for all the tips for getting this put on! I did end up ordering the leveler after the fact, since it's not expensive, and would allow a bit less space between the license and the bumper.

I was hoping to mount it like yours. How did you get behind the covered wires running behind the bumper? I couldn't get any higher without running into them with the brackets.
I hate to say this but I didn't run into any wires behind the bumper. It may be the version of the Slybracket you purchased. I mounted it so the plate only covered the mounts.

I recall some kind of obstruction (styrofoam?) but managed to get the mounting hardware in “behind” it with little issue. I’m fairly certain I got it one hex higher in the plastic than you have yours. Looks to me like the same bracket for what it’s worth.

In fact I for sure did, can see it in one of the pics.

Yeah the plan was to mount it like yours, but I wasn't comfortable moving the obstruction without seeing what it was. I'm tempted to move it up now since you were able to get behind whatever is there with no issue. However, it's alright where it is, and I may just put on the leveler and leave it there.

Has anyone gone through an automatic car wash with the Slybracket on? I'm worrried about possible damage from things getting caught.
are you talking about the brushed type? I avoid those for the paint's well being... it's possible but unlikely a brush could wrap itself around and tug on the bracket. I would just use touchless....

I took the cheap way out and zip-tied the front license plate to the bottom grill. It worked out great and I have even taken it thru the car wash. I spoke to a VW mechanic because I was worried that blocking part of the grill would affect the radiator behind it. He said that it may be better because the plat would help protect the radiator.
