Some quick notes I'd like to document:

This OBDEleven backup scan was made using version 0.60.0 (10627) on Android 13.
The car is a MY22 ID4 Pro-S AWD for the North American region.

Following modifications have been made:

Module A5:
---Longcoding
------Afs_coding_light_assistant from High_beam_assist to Matrixbeam

Module 19:
---Adaptation
------High Beam Assistance
---------Menuesteuerung Fernlichtassistent : changed from Not Active to Present
------Lichtsteuerungsmodul
---------Expanded high beam control: changed from AFS, FLA, Ferlicht Uber AFS to AFS, FLA, Fernlicht (GLW,MDF)

ID4 MY22 PRO-S AWD NA w3.1.0 and changes to matrix settings.txt

@VW TECHNICIAN , I'm not sure if you would be able to share any more specific guicance, but what are the other modules which you think will need to be closely examined? Since the formatting is significantly different it is not practical to do a document compare which was my initial plan.
I will move on private chat....I'm busy at the moment with my daughter, but will let you know what you need.

Hello!

Does anyone happen to know if the Chinese ID.4 Crozz has the same headlight hardware as US/EU models?

I noticed that they offer two LED headlight options depending on the trim, 'LED Osmo headlight (with lens)' for Pure and Pure+ trims, and 'IQ.Light advanced LED smart matrix headlights' for Lite PRO and PRIME trims. Wondering if this could be the same hardware, with the adaptive matrix LED functions just being enabled by software for the higher trims.

Visually there are some differences, but they may have some shared components.

My car is going in for the update/hv/sunroof clicking/rear lights not turning off next week. Once I get it back I’m going to dive in and try and enable them again.

Sorry for being so absent. My wife was diagnosed with cancer last year and that took over our lives for a while. I’m excited to see what goodies I can find in 3.1 and her new atlas.

Wow. Very sorry for your family. Prayers. Glad you are back @dg4prez!

I know there are multiple threads about activating matrix lights, and some chatter in the OBDEleven mods master list as well...not sure who is looking at what. But any further updates in the last few months here? :)
We are where we need someone from the EU with a 2023 car with matrix lights to send us their software backup.
To make it fun, since this is an add-on across the EU, this is much harder to find than it sounds. So if you find somebody, jsut DM me and we can get to work.

Actually, wondering if we should start a new thread, like, "Looking for any 2023 ID.4's with matrix headlights..... " Not everyone probably digs into this thread or the master coding thread. I'd probably be willing to ship an OBDEleven if we can find someone. Any thoughts?

Sure

If the lamp assembly is already the same or dynamic capable why not allow it with an OTA update? Should be easy peasy, hey. Perhaps matrix and steerable head lights are not available at the same time?
Is VW afraid NA can’t handle it?
Maybe aggressive/
/road rage drivers not understanding matrix LED headlights would cause lawsuits. 🤷‍♂️
Oh, I forgot they can add it to MY24 or MY25 as a top model extra $$ or make it an annual rentable feature that can be OTA removed. 😠

Looks like we have someone in the thread I started!! What do we need exactly, application server 2? Can you either let me know, or chime in over there? :)

Topology on VW vehicles.
ICAS module is responsible for all networking between all modules.
This one is key to enable necessary modules for matrix.
This module has to be coded first in line with necessary modules for matrix.
ICAS module is responsible for converting multiple different types of modules that talk on different type of networking ( lin bus, can bus, fiber, analog, digital and etc) and makes all of them to work together.
This would be necessary from EU model.... ICAS module backlog to compare against ICAS in US market ID4.
Advanced user should make necessary changes on ICAS without enabling any other capabilities that US models don't have equipped from the factory.
Some examples are electric assist shocks that US dosent have.
EU models have more options than US if equipped with all options.
Special care should be taken when matrix lights are enabled. Because for some Special features for matrix lights are directly related to the navigation system. But this would be another discussion.
Some people have already posted questions about settings for vehicle to slow down before entering curve or shadowing ability.

Interesting, thanks for chiming back in! Two questions:
  1. Unless I'm missing something, nothing in OBDEleven is named "ICAS" - I thought I read somewhere that in OBDEleven it's "Application Server" - am I crazy?
  2. So, basically, are you saying we need an EU car that does not have any EU specific features enabled as we won't be able to tell which coding does what? Or is there some way for us to determine that?
Thanks again so much for all your help!
