After enabling the ID4 key memory function and binding key A and key B, a bug was observed where when one of the keys (either A or B) wakes up from sleep mode, the seat memory position is correctly restored, but the rearview mirror tilt-down position displays an error. The mirror only tilts down to a fixed small angle. However, if the vehicle is locked again or not fully entering sleep mode, the mirror will correctly tilt to the memorized angle upon re-entry.

I did mention the "B201200 - Dataset implausible static" errors on Gateway 19. The dealer was able to duplicate the error but said not to worry about it (i.e. they didn't know what it is either). The main thing is that I now have this documented in the file so if after the warranty runs out, the Gateway module croaks I can show VW that this problem started before it ran out.

Ironically, I bought an OBDeleven gizmo (and some points) so that I could reset the service inspection and even though I declined the 20k service, the dealer did my (PA) state inspection and a "complimentary" (can we sell you something?) inspection and they reset my light anyway so I haven't had any use for it. Maybe someday.

The result of my inspections was that the car didn't need anything (they suggested new wipers). This is a '21 with 16k miles (bought it with 10k miles a year ago, car was placed in service in 2/22). The original Alenza rears were replaced just before I bought it, as was the 12V battery (which tested out as good just now). They checked the alignment and that was also in spec.

They gave me a brand new (500 miles) Atlas as a loaner. They did NOT do the door recall. They said that VW has withdrawn the 1st set of replacement parts that they sent around and they are waiting for new new parts which they expect at the end of this month.

My car never had the door issue to begin with and so many people have reported issues with their door fix that I am inclined not to do it until the problem appears on my car. There is no deadline for having recalls done. You could bring the car in 10 years from now and they would still have to do it (for free).

Once this is changed you need to first lock the vehicle. Then unlock with driver A key, sit down adjust seat/mirrors, save to memory 1, exit and lock. Repeat the same for Diver B / Memory 2. The key fob memory does not work with proximity unlock, you must click the unlock button on the remote for your settings to be recalled.

Important note - this disables the horn sounding when you lock the car or hit the panic button in your pants, and presumably when the car door is opened. So you're basically disabling your alarm system. From what I can tell the primary purpose of the alarm system is to scare the bejeezus out of the car owner from time to time, so for me this is acceptable - if it's not to you, don't do it. I continue to look for better ways to do this.

Great list.

I recently updated the software on ID4 2023 pro s to 3.5 and the window roll up on locking doesn't work. I do see the function in my infotainment screen, but it just does nothing, on or off makes no difference, windows don't roll up.

Any fix for that?

My seats no longer automatically move to memory positions when a profile is selected. Not sure if this is a bug or if it has anything to do with upgrading memory mirrors. Any ideas for settings that might be off? I had also tried the linking settings to a key mod and then rolled that back.

Got it fixed. Not sure if I just needed to reassign the memory positions for users or if I had to make sure "personalization" was active in the driver seat module. Not sure how that got turned to inactive.

So due to reasons I ended up having to get my windscreen replaced. They also had to re-calibrate my camera/ACC, which was expected.
Whilst doing this they apparently did a software update, which also wiped all of my ODB11 customised settings, which isn't really a problem. However since getting the vehicle back I cannot make any customisations on Gateway 19. There are two faults which are always present on GW 19 (albeit the same) which are "B201200 - Dataset implausible static"
There are no other errors on the vehicle/dash and I can configure other gateways.
Lots of comments how this can happen if something is added to the vehicle which hasn't been unlocked/paramitized, but this isn't the case.

Any ideas on what could be causing it and any potential fixes?
Similar happened to me and to be able to reprogram I had to. It a new license which is kind of annoying to say the least

I'd like it if the driver's seat would move to memory position when a user is selected, regardless if the user has changed since last time. Right now, it only moves the seat to the memory location if you actually select a different user. I'd like to have it set the seat to the memory position automatically every time you hit "ok" for a user, even if its the same. If anyone has any ideas how to do that. I'd be happy to hear.

Does anyone know if the OBDEleven can be used to activate the right-hand outside mirror dipping down when in reverse? I have a 2023 Pro S AWD and it doesn't have that feature. Since I also don't have the Area View camera, I would like to dip the mirror down when reversing for help in avoiding the curb. I had this feature in my Audi and used it way more than the Auto Parking feature. I don't have the power folding mirrors so not sure if that is a requirement for this feature or not. It seems like it should work with the standard power heated mirrors too. Any suggestions?

As far as I'm aware, you either have the option already or can't enable it. But the question is do you have memory mirrors, ie. mirror positions for your different profiles?

If not then there's no way of enabling it.

If you have the 2023 Pro S AWD then you have this feature already.
Check the manual to be sure you are configured properly.
I believe to use it you must have the mirror control on your armrest set to the right hand mirror when putting the car in reverse.

you don't have it on the 2023 pro S only in the Pro S Plus. the mirror doesn't have a position sensor only the motor

I'm too lazy to go out and test, but I think you are mistaken.
Yes the Pro S does not have mirror memory, but I think it can still tilt down on reverse and return to the previous position when set back to forward.

you can't. it requires the mirror to sense its position and it doesn't have the sensor. I did code it in in OBD eleven and it didn't work.

and this is our present consensus since the first US-made 2023 models came out.

That is true for 2021 and 2022 Pro S models. 2023 and newer requires you to step up to Pro S Plus model in order to get memory linked, power folding and reverse tilt-down (passenger side only) mirrors. 2023 is a tricky year due to parts shortage, the not all Plus models have those features either.

Does anyone know if you can use OBDEleven to change the distance the Memory Parking starts saving at? According to the manual, it saves up to 50 meters or about 164 feet. But that is a pretty long distance if you just want it to back you into a tricky parking spot each time. I have tried it and it works pretty well, but I wish the distance was shorter. Right now, if I want it to park my car in my apartment garage, the popup to start the maneuver comes up when I am still outside the garage. I press start, then open the garage gate, then it slowly moves in and parks. I wish I could start the maneuver later and only have it do the last few feet into my parking space. I have tried driving into the garage and getting in my normal spot for manual parking, but the start button doesn't come up because I am too far from the 50 meter starting position. If I could change that distance, it would be awesome! Anyone else have any ideas on how to get it to work better?

I just got my OBDEleven device and tried to do long coding to enable the key fob memory seat feature which is by default disabled. I found it OK, but when I tried to write it it gave me an error saying that I am in the wrong diagnostic mode. What do I need to do?

I have the PRO package.
