Ah okay. It’s behind the glove box.
Turns out the rear camera light and sound/warning sound isn’t working now either. I’m not sure why that was affected during the installation. I’m going back tomorrow to get it fixed. 😬

All of the issues got resolved yesterday. I returned to the installers and they fixed everything. I guess they had two wires crossed. Now it works very well. I had them turn the amp down a bit as it was way too loud. Now I think it might need to be turned up a little bit more. I'll give it a week to see if it's good enough.

Originally after the install, the volume was brutal at 1/4 of the way. Now it's normal and doesn't get loud until you turn it halfway or higher. All good.

I'm glad I found this post on Reddit originally @Miicho85. I would have been sad when I listened to music in my ID.4. Now I'm happy. Thanks again.

I'm glad you got it sorted out.

You chose the right speaker + amp. that gives you natural and detailed sounds. Play a Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon or the Wall, and you'll hear sounds that you never heard before. And that tells us how crappy the OE sound system is.

I’ll be going back to ABT to have them install a powered sub in a couple of weeks hopefully, my 12v battery won’t die on me 😅

@pro, how much space is available around the glovebox area? I'm thinking of fitting a JBL DSP4086 in there, the specs say it's around 238x144x50mm.

Where are you planning to fit the iSub Twin? I looked under the front seats, there are lots of motors and other interfering stuff in there. Also, can you comment on the question above?

So I had to return the iSub twins because they don’t fit on the models with automatic seats. I got a powered subwoofer that stays in the cargo area.

I can measure the glove box later when I get home.

Well, you upgraded the door speakers, right? So, for the lack of depth I.e, front <> back, don't you need to add speakers on the dash and the rear shelf?

I upgraded by VW ID4 with a Focal sound system. My installer suggested going with a bit better subwoofer and amplifier system. I am very happy with the results. You can look at options at VW ID 4 | compact (2021-) | Focal Inside. I suggest you go to an authorized FOCAL installation dealer.
