I like Kyle, but yeah, he can talk a lot. However, that's what makes him very, very good at what he does, considering he is very knowledgeable about batteries, motors, brakes, suspensions, chargers, dispensers, etc. Usually, he knows far more than 99% of EV channel hosts.

That said, he is one of those who pushed hard for the ID 4. He absolutely loved it and still does. But then, whoa, he went off because ID 4 owners are actually using their FREE charging, which is not free anyway. Those charging sessions are paid for, no matter if they're built into the price of the car, subsidized through private investors, or public funds. It makes no difference. The ID 4's (as well as at least 8 other EVs with "free charging") are PAID for.

He hates people who live in town and use the local DCFC instead of installing chargers at home. My response is, why the hell would anyone charge at home and pay again when we have already paid through our purchase? Use the DCFC all you want, clog them up good, and the industry will pick up steam to get more installed. If the DCFCs are not at capacity, then why would any company build out more?"

Eh, he may be knowledgeable - certainly more than me, but since he upped the release tempo (a few years ago?) he's neither careful nor accurate. When he's saying things so wrong that I catch them, then he's lost the plot for me. And the production quality was getting to me - I think the last time I watched they were still using phones.

If it was produced in North America and if it had the NACS connectors it would be the ideal replacement vehicle for all of the older people who are still hanging on to their ghetto sleds. I am thinking about my parents and half of my aunts and uncles. Rather than switch a production lane in Chattanooga I imagine that they could expand in Mexico. Maybe produce the new drive motor in Canada.

Production in Mexico, for world wide distribution, could solve most of the tax problems. Definitely cheaper than production in Germany. For a lot of the older people hanging onto their caddies and Lincolns $7500 doesn't mean much. It's possible that it could even be produced as taxis or cop cars.

ID 7 does look good but I'm done with sedans . Next will most likely be the ID Buzz for me (running Uber)
Well I come from a few crossover SUVs now (EV6 and XC40 Recharge) and I can safely say that I miss low, efficient cars more than anything. Sitting high up is overhyped if you ask me. I honestly do not see the benefit. At least the ID Buzz is not an SUV though and the best van on the market :p Too bad the ID7 is overpriced.

well for one you can seeOVER Sedans :D

For me in Minnesota the problem with sedans is Snow, not just clearance but for whatever reason snow always is worst in the wheel wells and door sills . I had aLincoln MKZ hybrid I was using for Uber, loved the car 40 mpg but snow packed on wheel wells constantly.
