Don't know if it's China or Taiwan....here's the blurb on their US website:

Our products are designed by our award winning team of engineers with more than 30 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket industry, keeping to our philosophy of “Style, Quality, Protection”. All 3D products are manufactured in our own facilities in Taiwan & China, with future plans to open another manufacturing location here in the US. Our fully staffed office/distribution center in Fontana, California is ready to do business with you.
Doesn't matter Taiwan or China, politics aside, all are the same people. ;)

That's unfortunate. Again, letting them lay out in the Sun typically helps.

btw: I also bought a WeatherTech cargo liner for my wife's GLA before we even took delivery, so some added time for outgassing in that case. No wifely complaint and there would certainly have been one if the scent had remained. ;)

Somewhat related: the "new car smell" of my ID.4 was somewhat underwhelming. But then as most all FE's it sat in port for an extended period (mostly awaiting v2.1 code update) and therefore extended outgassing time. Also there are now more environmentally friendly adhesives used in vehicles and historically those adhesives in particular imparted the more reminiscent "new car smell."
It could be new, but I've had it in the car for a month, still smell. Also, what's the material of monster mat? Rubber?
This weathertech TPO material has a different smell than rubber. And it's a lot more than the TPE that Lasfit use. If you said it's shipping distance, but the Lasfit has never left it's box and wrap until I take them out. They still smells a lot less to none comparing to weather tech that I've been using for a month.

Can you post a link to Amazon Germany, please?
Sorry.
Was on Amazon Netherlands instead of Germany.
I also saw them cheaper on aliexpress.

Looking to finally take delivery of my car in the next few weeks and preparing my accessory lineup. I was wondering how those who picked up the Lasfit liners are feeling about their performance over the longer term.

So far so good on this end. Easy to put in and remove for cleaning. No warping, it's molded nicely into place, and no odors.

I recently purchased and installed this set into my vehicle and they are extremely light / thin but feel very durable. Fit is perfect and covers the carpet, while also providing additional sound insulation. Little to no odor at all. The material appears to be a different version of TPE material. Also flexible and easy to take in and out to quickly rinse off. Amazon Prime day had these going for $130 shipped, while I also had 5% off gift cards (Chase / Gas Stations) I applied. If you're not in a rush, and the price is back up again, it's nearly $90 less now on Ali Express as these are made in China.

Side Note: These are the closest resemblance that I see to the 3D Maxpider brand which I've used for years in my LEAF, just slightly different in the non-slip backing.

It appears there are multiple sellers on Ali Express selling the same mats below. Hoping that 3D Maxpider can release their version as it's made in Taiwan and a bit higher in quality.

I am a bit confused with some of the comments regarding TPO vs TPE and odor. First, TPOs are TPEs. Thermoplastic olefins are a type of thermoplastic elastomer. These are not cured rubber like tires, rubber hoses or weather-stripping. Cured rubber consists of a long list of chemicals such as cross-linkers, accelerators, anti-oxidants, anti-ozonates, plasticizers, reinforcers, carbon black, silica, etc. in addition to the base uncured polymer. This is why rubber stinks for some time until some of the chemicals evaporate/escape.

TPEs consist of a polymer ( or blend), pigment, and a stabilizer. Either would also have a processing aid. TPEs should not smell, including TPOs, polyester TPEs like Hytrel, TPUs ( thermoplastic urethanes). Polyamid TPEs such as Vetamid E or Pebax, or styrenic block copolymer TPEs like Krayton. Some may contain a small amount of plasticizer.

So, I question if the mats that do smell are truly TPO or if it is a blend of TPO and ground up tire rubber. Rubber would also be noticeably heavier than a TPE.

Had it for about 2 months and a few trips including 1700 miles road trip to and from Key West, definitely enjoyed it more than the other 2.
It is less slippery and softer than the WT, yet the dirt and very fine sand tend to stick on it a little easier, and harder to get all of them off from the liner only using a vacuum. I'm sure I can take a hose and wash them off, but since they don't come loose at all (I vacuumed and slammed the liners on the hard ground and walls) it really doesn't bother me. On the other hand, I do really really enjoy the longer coverage on the dead pedal, since that's mostly where my left foot will stay, step, or scrap onto during the trip. After the trip, I see a lot less debris under the liner compared to the WT that I had during the first month. And I don't even care about the TGBROS because it sucks. So you really cannot go wrong with Lasfit IMHO, especially for nearly half the cost I paid for the WT.

I have the same doubt about TGBROS brand. However, the WT I bought that had a strong smell is sold and shipped directly from the manufacturer. So even if your theories are all correct, the fact is they do smell bad. And I really don't care, and I'm not chemistry or material major so I could be wrong on the technical quote from the internet, but the fact stays that WT is more expensive, more slippery, and smells bad.

My WT mats did smell bad, and the smell went away completely within a week.
Mine stayed smelly for a month and has no sign of getting better in any shorter time. In the meantime, the cheaper product came with no smell at all, so it's a no brainer for me. I had thought if I got a counterfeit. But it wasn't. The package was shipped directly from WT factory.

I want to build on @CiTY HuNTeR's super useful comparisons of LASFITs, Weathertech and TGBROS. As of 2/2023 a new Amazon seller, "Naibeve," are selling a new set of ID.4 TPE mats.

I did close compares of the LASFIT and Naibeve and went with the Naibeve. I didn't test anything long-term but here's reasons I kept the Naibeve:
  1. Material & texture - The Naibeve seem a bit lighter than LASFIT by weight but they are meaty with comfortable grip. The Naibeve are rubbery TPE, not the plasticky TPO of Weathertech and the Naibeve are strong enough to hold their structure. For the rear seats, CiTY HuNTeR noted he actually preferred the rigidity of Weathertech to the softer LASFIT. The Naibeve seem rigid enough and don't shift or deform under weight.
  2. Front Coverage - For the fronts, the Naibeve are longer than the LASFITs. I especially like the extra coverage in the front passenger toe box and under the brake/accelerator for the driver.
  3. Rear Coverage - For the rears, the Naibeve fully wrap the corner closest to the door where the LASFIT have zero coverage. Weathertech has some coverage but not as much as the Naibeve.
  4. Tread pattern/height - The main tread patterns on the Naibeve seem fine, no odd edges that catch shoes (though see below on the retention "pegs").
  5. Appearance - I think the overall look of the Naibeve is more neutral. I don't like the big centered logo of the LASFIT and they have an arguably busier pattern.
Possible Naibeve cons:
  1. The Naibeve front mats have clunky raised "pegs" for the retention clips at the corners, LASFIT anchors are much more flush. I can slightly feel the pegs but they weren't clear deal-breakers. I'll live with them a while to judge.
  2. The finish level of the LASFITs is very high and they were uniformly flat. The Naibeve had a few areas of slight warping but not in critical spots, at least not in the set I received. But the LASFITs seem a notch above the Naibeve in overall QC.
  3. The LASFIT have a beveled rim that makes them low-profile at the edges. The Naibeve have a more rolled edge that isn't quite as nice.

Great review. I think it's a better design as well.
