Dealer visit to patch or wait for OTA campaign in January.
About time! I wonder which ID4s will be able to install this update over the air (OTA). The notice states OTA for some vehicles starting in January.

Seem to recall reading somewhere (maybe here) that VW stated they had fixed the issue in a later software revision that was delivered to new cars at the factory after a certain production date.
Maybe if we are lucky we will get this fix just <2 years since it was put in newly produced cars.VW says they fixed it in CW24, 2023. That is mid year, but I don't know what date CW24 equals.
The first id I bought hasn't had the infotainment screen go black in months now and the one I got in October not at all. I am inclined to wait awhile and see how the update goes. Does it remove, add or modify features, does it install smooth smooth and quick..or..?

No parts for a software update?Just a heads up if you’re scheduling a recall fix online, you may want to contact the dealer to make sure they can actually do it.
Yesterday, I used my dealer’s website to schedule my 20k service for today, and was given the option online to add the door handle recall fix, and also the SW update recall fix. I nervously checked the boxes for the recalls to avoid needing to go get service twice. When I got to the dealer this morning, they said they “didn’t have parts” for either recall fix. Sad I’ll have to go back but happy I’m not the guinea pig!
