Hello, I'm new here so please be gentle - I'm looking to buy an ID.4 - just wondered regarding dimension-wise - is anyone able to confirm the length from the front dash - all-the-way through to the back, with the rear tail-gate closed - internally?

My reason is I do alot of DIY and wanted to know what the over-all internal size is for carrying wood etc, for my numerous home DIY projects.

I currently have a Golf Mk7 Estate - that can just about accommodate 3m lengths of wood ... ! - I know the ID.4 will be less, but wanted to understand how much shorter it is.

Much appreciated - Thank you.

Thanks for the dimensions @ID.Furkan. Seeing your photo reminded me of how much it annoys me that the back seat doesn’t fold down flat. Not a big deal for certain things like lumber but not being able to stack boxes and suitcases on the level is not good.

its even better, open the skihatch from the rearseat and put your lumber through it and it stays in the middle without touching the front seats.

also the video is live. Dimension segment starts after 10 min mark

Can you retract the side mirrors and reverse into a spot? We're rebuilding our garage, but until then it's 7 feet wide, which leaves almost zero clearance with the mirrors.

I've foldable sidemirrors, when folded its abit wider then the rear, not much

Can you verify what the ground clearance is? It has often been reported to be 8.5 inches, but VW rep at dealership showing said it is 6 inches, which matches Autogefuhl review stating 16cm. To me it didn't look very high.
You tell me.. both measurement are listed here:

Jokes aside, i will check that out.. just forgot it.

The VW marketing clip lists 16cm ground clearance in the sidebar but 21cm in the vehicle graphic. 🤷‍♂️

I believe the 21cm (~8") to be the actual clearance as very close to the Audi allroad with a similar light terrain off-road capability. Golf Sportwagen/Alltrack as well?

But ID.Furkan's always appreciated hands-on will truly tell the tale. 🙂

However if the still is too high for you the USA aftermarket will likely respond with a suspension lowering kit. The aftermarket here loves that kinda stuff. I remember one for the allroad soon after introduction which of course negated its off road capability. 🤪

🤣. Priceless!

Here are a couple of questions for those of you that now own an ID.4: When measured from the ground how tall is the back lift gate when open?
You may need to dig around in the owners manual for this answer: Is the back lift gate opening adjustable to decrease its opening height?

Yes the opening is adjustable based on ID.4 videos.

Thanks, does anyone know the opening height?
See if you can find one of the latest video's from ID.Furkan. He went over all the trunk dimensions.
