Anybody have an idea if we should expect a big increase in insurance costs for the ID.4? Just not sure what to expect...
I had Allstate before I got the ID.4, my Allstate agent quoted $989/6mo. Told him he was crazy and dropped them.I just got a full line quote from Amica. They are at least double what I’m paying via Allstate. They had no idea what an ID.4 is, so I don’t know what they were basing the quote on.
My $400 / 6 months quote held up with Allstate. I was paying more than that for each of my older cars. I’m assuming that the new safety tech is justifying discounts.
I'm in a crazy expensive market - Hollywood - but to make y'all feel better, I'm paying 190/mo for a top shelf policy from geico for a base pro model with no points on my license and no insurance claims since 2008. Tried state farm, progressive, and mercury and they were a lot higher for similar coverage.I had Allstate before I got the ID.4, my Allstate agent quoted $989/6mo. Another Pittsburgh (east suburbs) resident. Got my ID.4 through Sendel in Greensburg. I got a crazy quote for insurance from current agent. Trying to figure out what is reasonable.I cannot claim Pittsburghese for me, since I moved here 8 years back, n’at.
Are you from the area as well?
To everybody else, sorry for taking over this thread. I am just so excited to have some others from Pittsburgh here.
Here's my experience. I pay annually and my insurance just renewed. I have everything with the same company (American Family insurance). Overall, the insurance cost increased significantly for all parts, Home, Umbrella, Motorhome and 2 cars, one of them the ID.4. Home insurance went up 30%. Umbrella went up 26%. The ID.4 2023 went up 80% and the ICE car (Hyundai Kona 2024 standard ICE and over 10K less expensive) is even more expensive than the ID.4 and went up about the SAME percentage. There does not seem to be a significant difference in insurance cost between an ICE and an EV. In fact, since the ID.4 is more expensive than the Kona, it is actually cheaper than the ICE vehicle.Anybody have an idea if we should expect a big increase in insurance costs for the ID.4? It's still an interesting topic? This is a 4 year old thread though.... not sure why we revived it. LOL
