  1. Unless I'm missing something, nothing in OBDEleven is named "ICAS" - I thought I read somewhere that in OBDEleven it's "Application Server" - am I crazy?
ICAS modules are application servers. ICAS 1, modules 8123 and 8124 in OBDeleven, are where some of the changes will need to be applied. ICAS 3, module 8125, is the infotainment application server which serves a different purpose.

v3.1.4 will be enough for full use of matrix....there will be improvements on camera module coming in newer versions.....stock factory version will be possible but there will be limitations because of camera module software version.
EU versions irrelevant to software version will have necessary firmware updates for camera and matrix modules already installed if enabled for specific EU market. Not all EU markets have this option enabled. All it needs to compare EU vs US modules and start changing coding to enable this feature. Depending on firmware version on this modules it could work with more delays or not as well as modules that have latest firmware versions for camera and matrix module. VW will always start with new software version in EU before it will get updates to US and other markets....so if you come across higher version than mentioned above it will be enough to compare two modules to make needed adjustments for enabled matrix lights.
I have a Chinese version of ID.4 in Europe that has IQ lights enabled. Saw someone was seeking for a dump with this feature enabled to make changes to the US version of the firmware, right?

Chinese models have different chips used and it will not work with EU or US market vehicles. Some adaptations can be used but not entire backups from vehicle designed for Chinese market.

@VW TECHNICIAN You had mentioned v3.1.4 being enough for full use of matrix, but that was way back in 2022. Can you confirm that 3.2.11 or 3.2.12 now has the full matrix lights enabling code as well?

I've been trying to look into the activation a little further, to me it seems that the main issue may be needing to update the LCM in the headlights with the correct datasets.
IF
this is correct it would not be a 'simple' change that could be done through just OBDeleven adaptations and long coding, likely requiring specialty software/hardware and certainly requiring detailed know-how.

Separate note, I recently reached out to europrice.us as they offer activation for many Audi models(currently excluding the Q4), the following was their response. 🤞

Unfortunately the files are not yet available, but it is on the list to work on. When this is available I will let you know.
While there is no certainty that they will ever be able to do so for the ID.4, I'm cautiously optimistic since they did not give an outright no-never as the answer.

And trying to find someone with license for ODIS tool and flashing subscription.
All needed firmware changes for windshield camera module necessary for matrix lights are there already. ICAS module is responsible for all traffic and will need to be looked into for this DIY project.

would the next OTA wipe out the modification?

What's the status on this? Still trying to understand if NA (US/CAN) models have the hardware for Matrix Headlights
Models with the “eyeball” projector headlights have the appropriate hardware. I don’t believe anyone has made progress on activating the software. If I remember correctly @VW TECHNICIAN was hinting that it would take more than just OBDeleven to activate the coding at the present time.

it takes hunting down a forum member with EU matrix light hardware get a backup for us. We thus far had failed at step #1:D
Agreed, till we get a backup from a EU vehicle with the right hardware we’re unlikely to solve this.

Any volunteers from our EU members?

Takes a slightly more targeted approach:D I doubt anybody with a working matrix light from the EU lurks a thread frequented by people who don't have it:ROFLMAO:

I approached a few people but got ghosted.

I have an OBDeleven export for a car that has the matrix headlights, but the issues I was running into is that it appears there are special parameters in the lights themselves that need to bee updated (don't have more information on what they are and how to access) and there were too many general configuration differences that resulted in difficulty identify what is relevant.

LED modules D6 and D7 or some other modules? D6 and D7 have an eeprom listed under basic settings, hoping this is not where they have this configured.

Can you share the data you have? My car’s in the shop for a couple of days getting some minor work done from a collision, more than happy to have a look at this when I get it back.

If you could share in private we could make a concerted effort to compare, identify, etc.
